There were constraints after all. Not even the villains wanted to harm the boy.
There was Medbot 4095102-90456-817, aka Doctor Wile-E. With several uprated Gambler Bunnygirl units, he sought to capture Ranma and turn him into a 10,000hp cyborg who wouldn't age so quickly.
There was Dark, Tron, and a few others under the Dark Banner. They wanted to capture Ranma and influence his upbringing.
There was a unit called the Grand Calzoni who kept making robot nannies who tried to kidnap Ranma and raise him as a princess. It must be noted that the Grand Calzoni (Master Brain 204) was located in the Sahara and seemed to have some problems with her (having a female identity matrix) coolant systems being insufficient for her logic processors. About the only thing the Medbot and Dark factions could agree on was that Calzoni was definitely overdue for maintenance.
It HAD been a long time though, and so perhaps units malfunctioning like that weren't to be unexpected.
After the fourth attack (which had been a swarm of nannybots who had linked up to form... a bigger nannybot), Ranma figured out what was going on. Naturally, he insisted that he could defend himself. Or if not, needed to be able to.
After some thought, and three of the defending Master Brain (cityplex supercomputers with way too much time on their manipulators) came up with a solution.
