"Of course I care, Akane. I care about all my... ." The look of utter wish-fulfillment and self-ratification cut off Tofu's standard reply. This was a girl starving for positive reinforcement. It was so painful he had to look away.
His cursed twin had stopped. Akane's expression had reached her heart, as well.
Tofu swiftly swept the youngest Tendo up in his arms before anything could stop him.
"No...No: No! You have Kasumi! You can't take her, too!" Futana cried out loud. Her joy left her. She sank to her knees on the grass. "Even if it is not fair of you, you have more of a right. You, after all, are the male one."
Dr. Tofu tore his lips away from Akane, and hugged her tightly to him. "I am terribly, dreadfully sorry for using you this way, Akane. I selfishly wanted to see how strong her feelings for you were. They are stronger than those for Kasumi it appears. I am sorry."
Akane emotions were in a lifeboat on a stormy sea.
But she only had one conscious thought: The male Ono's feelings for Kasumi was stronger than those for her; much stronger.
