Nabiki's Wish: Ranma's Rib [Episode 177155]

by Sainin

They had turned the corner and started down the shopping street when it began to rain. Ranma panicked.

But he didn't change.

The girl was holding her small parasol/umbrella over his head.

"B, but you're gettin' wet."

"You said you hated water. And most Japanese don't mind the rain that much."

Ranma refrained himself from say, My heroine. Instead he looked around and hurried them to the nearest shelter. It was an open produce stall.

"I guess we'll hafta wait here, until it stops. Sorry. This ain't the best place for a date, I guess."

"There are worse places. The fish market is also open." She wandered further in, looking at the fruits and vegetables. She picked one up. "Did you ever hear the story of Adam and Eve?" she asked impishly, taking a bite out of the apple.

Ranma was hesitant when she offered it. The way she looked, the story must've been dirty. But, to be polite, he did bite.

"Mm, juicy."

"I know." She made a circuit of the stall; there were so many possibilities for innuendo and just plain smut.

"Hey, kids! Who's gonna pay for that apple?"

"Pay!? Aw, geez!" The pigtailed boy went to get his money purse. "I forgot dates are supposed to cost money, too. I think I have enough for an apple."

"Never mind, Ranma. I'll pay. You can pay me back...later." There she goes with that look, again. She opened her sling purse and took out her coin purse. (He noticed that a chain attached it to the inside of the purse.)

"Here, you pay; you're the guy," she said, slipping him some bills.

"You gave me too much!"

But she just smiled.

"Oh, look what I found." She said, taking out a piece of paper that had been folded and refolded, with seemingly randomly placed words and phrases.

"Okay?" He didn't recognize what it was. While he was paying ("Why do we have to pay for the passion fruit, too?!"), Nabiki was re-folding the paper.

"Here's your passion fruit," he said with a slight scowl.

"My hands are full. See?" She held up a pyramid that was split four ways down the center. "My friends use these to decide where we'll go, when we don't have a plan."

"Yeah?" he smiled a bit. He was terrible with coming up with non-fighting plans.

"Here, you do it. See how I'm holding it? Yes, place her fingers in it like that. Now, say: "My, Mother, Told, Me, to Pick, the Very, Best, One..."
