"Didn't you guys seal the door to the roof with that adhesive paste, Goemon?" Lupin asked, letting go of Fujiko/Ranma after he finished scaling the last feet of their trip up the side of the building.
"It still needs time to cure," said the old-fashioned samurai-type In Europe?
"Yeah, it just being sticking and doughy like my mother used to make will only keep them back for so long," Jigen said. He lifted a crossbow. "Hopefully the stick’em inside this arrowhead will be stronger." The arrowhead was in the shape of an American football. He shot down at the building across the boulevard. "At least it explodes."
"Explodes!?" Ranma said. There was a small one.
"Got it," he said; but he wasn't happy about it. "I feel like friggin Green Arrow/. We should have brought a bazooka."
"You can't fold a bazooka," Lupin smiled, watching the man in the rumpled black suit do just that with the crossbow, before slipping on its shoulder strap.
"This end is secure," the Goemon guy said, testing yet another "invisible" wire attached to the portable winch.
"Then it's time to join the circus, men...and Fujiko," Lupin said, handing 'him' a doohickey something with two leather-like hand loops.
"What's this for?" Ranma asked.
"The Fujiko I know would not have to ask," Goemon said, as if seeing for himself the truth of something.
Jigen had already jumped off the 20-story building. "Crap, how I hate heights."
Instead of falling, he "flew", the ball bearings of the doohickey sliding down the wire while hanging onto the loops.
"At least we know that the other end holds," Lupin smiled.
"For now," Goemon said, insisting on seeing the danger, before following his friend in the same daredevil feat.
"Fujiko?" Lupin invited her to go before him.
"Eh...if you guys can do it, I can. But tell me how it works." Ranma heard the noise of the door to the roof was being rammed.
"The explosive head of the arrow sends out weighted and adhesive-covered tendrils that become entangled on whatever it can find."
"Oh," Ranma said. Just before Lupin pushed 'him' off.
