"Perhaps I should try to find Happosai's treasure first," Makoto thought to herself aloud as she strolled through the streets of Nerima. "That sounded like it would be the easiest task..."
Suddenly, a girl addressed her from the side: "Excuse me, but do you have a cousin named Hikaru?"
Makoto shook her head. "No, but I have a teacher named Haruna..."
The other girl hesitated, then shrugged. "Close enough... Let's talk business..."
It was then when Makoto recognized her. "Hey, aren't you Kasumi's sister? Nabiki, right? Hey, did you manage to sell your photos?"
Nabiki shook her head. "Nah, Kuno locked himself away in his mansion... and thanks to his sister's pet alligator, I can't even get in."
Makoto sweat-dropped. "Pet alligator?" Didn't sound like it would be easy getting in there...
"Okay, now, back to business..." Nabiki pulled out a rolled up paper. "You want to buy a map to Happosai's Legendary Lost Treasure? Only one in existence. Rare. Very rare. Only 100.000 yen!"
Makoto blinked. "You have a map that leads to the treasure? How?"
Nabiki shrugged. "Well, Ranma wanted to make sure that the old lech wouldn't get his 'treasure' back, so he hid it... but what he didn't know was that I watched him. And knowing that Happosai would want his 'darlings' back some time, I decided to make a map. So, you wanna buy it?"
Makoto sighed. "Okay, as if I had a choice..." 'Great, there goes my allowance...'
Nabiki smirked and handed Makoto the paper, after pocketing the cash. "There ya go! You've made a wise decision..."

Naturally, Makoto wanted to see if her purchase would be worth the money, so she decided to take a good look at this 'map' after Nabiki had left.
But just as she was going to do it, she heard a voice coming out of a nearby alley...
"Psssst."
Wondering, she followed the sound and wandered into the dark alley. "Hello? Anybody in here? Helloooo..."
Suddenly, a curvaceous figure came dropping down from above. It was a dark-haired girl in a skintight leotard, carrying some sort of gymnastic ribbon...
"Ohohohohoh..." the strange girl laughed madly. "So you're the new girl in town, huh? You know, bad things could happen to a person in a dark, deserted alley like this one. And at this time of night, nobody would be around to see it."
Makoto looked up to the clear, sunny sky. "Um, what do you mean? It's almost noon..."
"Mess up my well-prepared speech, will ya?" the leotard girl grumbled. "Listen up, pony-tailed harridan: My name is Kodachi! Kodachi the Black Rose! Take it from me - this is a bad time to be visiting Nerima... a VERY bad time. My advice to you is to find another place to take your vacation."
She came very close to Makoto's face. "Somewhere safer..."
Makoto frowned. "Should I be intimidated by this?"
The girl called Kodachi just smirked in response, then she leaped away in a flurry of black rose petals and laughed: "OOOOHOHOHOHOHOH..."
Makoto shook her head. "Boy, just how many loons are living here in Nerima?"
