The Lady Barrett smiled at 'Rana', smiling all the while.
Rana grinned back.
"Oh, yes - I'm always so glad to see your Castle shining like a beacon around here, too, Lady Barrett..."
It was even true, too, 'Rana' noted with some astonishment - 'Stayovers on Lady Barrett's Crystal Castle' had become some kind of Tradition for her, over the years, oddly enough...
And she was a good customer, too, Rana reminded herself - even if she didn't have all that much in the way of disposable income in general. The Lady Barrett tended to be lonely and bored, stationed out here in the Outreaches of her System, and it wasn't like her Planet had any Life Systems installed or any notable resources or anything like that, either - there just weren't any people out here in general, except for the occasional trader passing by like herself, or a Senshi training exercise taking place near by, or something like that.
And the other Senshi of the System weren't inclined to be very cooperative about the matter of the Lady Barrett taking any kinds of vacations, either - even after Rana had told her that some other Star Systems's Senshi took pretty much regular vacations from their duties, it had taken her a long while to actually work up the gumption to actually try to ask them to send in somebody to take her place for a bit while she took some time off. And the reactions to that had been -
Well, the Lady Barrett had been able to take a vacation in the end, true, but only because the some of the other Senshi had decided they wanted one of their own punished for whatever reason, and had thought for some reason that making that person take care of Lady Barrett's post for the duration was a good idea. And he had pretty much made a hash of that, too, so...
Well, since then, Lady Barrett had been able to take a couple of vacations in much the same fashion, as far as Rana knew, which was better then no vacation at all, she supposed, but -
Oh, well. Not Her Star System, beep-beep - getting too involved, emotionally or otherwise, was Not A Good Idea, really.
The other Senshi of this System did tend to annoy her, though...
"Come, Rana-chan, tea! I've got something that the Tila Princess gave me.."
"Ohhhh..."
