Great Distracted Will: deliberate FUBAR [Episode 178273]

Ranma had sought knowledge, which had led to enlightenment, which had led to Awareness. Though he no longer had the Great Will and missed that feed and the crystalline clarity it brought to everything, he remembered some of it and had kept as much as he could.

One tidbit of information was that there were heroes, there were villains, and there was a menace. All his life he'd learned to fight, but he hadn't been specifically trained to meet this menace, and had the Great Will not been thrust in his lap (okay, technically tattooed on his arm) - he would have gone blindly on with his life.

While the Great Will had been relaying information to him, it was strictly a GIGO interface. Unless he asked the right question, he didn't get the right answer, and he couldn't use the Great Will to eradicate the Menace itself because he wasn't going to have the time to figure out the right questions to use that Will. That much he had also known.

Now that he DID know, he was going to get involved. To get involved he needed something beyond the Fist Of The Northstar. While it was perfectly fine for humanoid opponents, the pressure point manuevers would not function on something significantly different from humanity's structure.

There was also the problem that the opponents weren't going to oblige by always fighting in the sort of atmosphere he could breathe. Hence turning to the Japanese standby in such situations.

So Ranma's past now included him getting a "giant robot" to use on fighting said Menace in situations where he couldn't simply unleash the Hundred-Fist manuever and explode its head.
