Lupin + Ranma: From S. Kaper to Caper [Episode 178405]

by Sainin

"Aw, crap, not that friggin caper, again," Jigen said. "It has friggin "save the world again from its stinking self" all over it. That usually doesn't friggin pay well, you friggin well know."

"I promise, Jigen, I'll only "save the world" unless I really have to," Lupin assured his best friend with a grin, as he allowed the magician's assistant tie his light blue tie under the collar of his dark blue shirt. "After all, I'm a thief, not a hero."

"Sometimes I friggin wonder. Why do we have to friggin target mobsters and other friggin bad guys so often?"

"Because, as they say, "That's where the money is". Plus they can't go running to the law to demand the cops recover their ill-gotten gains for them. They can't even claim the theft insurance, so there's no official record of our crime there, either," he said, letting her slip his trademark red jacket on him.

"Yeah, but you certainly friggin make sure you do get enough friggin publicity. You and your friggin "Conspicuous inconspicuousness"; any other self-respecting criminal would want to stay low, especially while the friggin heat was on."

"The "friggin heat" is always on us. You know that, Jigen. Old Man Inspector Zenigata can't fry an egg, without seeing me. I'm his sole mission in life." He tipped the magician's assistant a 100 Swiss franc bill, and headed for the stage door. "Well, I'm off to see a lady."

"Ah, Fujiko, Jigen, Goemon, there you guys are," Lupin greeted eveyone as he approached their table from the lobby of the restaurant. "The doctor said my hand was alright, after all. See?"

"I told you that," Fujiko/Ranma said, frowning.

"We were just talking about that job you have friggin lined up. And guess what? Fujiko is against it. She says she friggin well doesn't do illegal things."

"Unless you consider taking food and the basics in life from others who have them stealing," Ranma almost guiltily confessed. For some reason 'he' felt a need to prove to these people 'he' wasn't completely honest.

"You won't consider the caper, Fujiko?" Lupin asked, having sat down near her. "What if I told you it meant saving the world?"

" "Saving the world"?" Ranma was skeptical, but interested.

"Aw, freaking no," Jiggen muttered. "He's going to have a simple job looking like something for the Impossible Missions Force."

"Listen carefully to my voice, Fujiko-"

"His name is Ranma," Goemon said.

"Okay, if that's the way to reach her. Listen carefully to my voice, Ranma, as I explain why this job is so important..." And as he spoke, Ranma did listen to Lupin; there was something about his voice 'he' just trusted.

Lupin's plan involved...
