"This is the arboreum. Oh, hey Harris," said Genma, waving to a large lumbering tree-creature.
"Evening, Saotome-san," rumbled the tree being, looking a little odd with his canvas apron and digging around in the soil. "Just planting some of the local flora."
Genma nodded. "Well, keep up with it. Next on the agenda..."
Nabiki and Akane noticed Kasumi staying behind to talk to some flower-faeries but were a little confused (as well as overwhelmed, weirded-out, and just plain in-over-their-heads) by events and didn't bring this up to anyone.
This was a particularly difficult attack. One started by summoning up a large ball of chi, then crushed it in on itself, folding the pattern of energy around tighter and tighter.
BLAM!
Ranma sighed and waited for the test area to be repaired. Try, try, again.
"The Promenade level is where all the various stores are found," continued Genma as they entered the next level. "All of these stores are operated by the owners."
"Has a sort of 'summer fair' atmosphere," noted Soun.
"Uhm, Nabiki and Kasumi are gone," said Akane, noting that Nabiki had just vanished behind a curtain/door into an Item Shop.
"Now here's the Food Court, my personal favorite," said Genma.
"Hmmm," said Soun, sniffing the air.
The name. It was the name. It was just so silly, but the name DID have an effect on the final product. He had WANTED to call it Destruction Point. Nope.
Ranma gave in. The manuever wouldn't stabilize without getting this part of it, as it involved magic and magic was NOT something that reined itself except the way IT wanted to go.
He'd just have to keep a straight face when he unleashed "Butterfly Kiss".
"Now this is the battle area, where my son is trying to perfect some new special manuever..." Genma stopped and looked around. "Where is everyone?"
Akane favored Genma with a "you've got to be kidding" look. "What. You didn't notice?"
Genma shrugged. "Let's go down there and see how he's coming."
Akane followed him down the stairs and into the sands of some arena, where a boy was doing something. Her eyes widened as she saw WHAT he was doing.
The boy held his hands apart, forming swirling energies around each, which formed into a ball in front of him. As she watched he grit his teeth and tensed with effort, and the ball compacted smaller and smaller, becoming finally a tiny pinprick of light that was painful to look at before it faded to a sort of... pink?!
"Boy, get over here and meet your wife!" declared Genma.
The startled boy nearly fell over, and Akane noticed the little pink dot was now heading directly towards her.
