The Darwin Award is a joke award, usually given in memory of some person who ended up killing themselves in the most unique and insanely stupid way. In short, it salutes the improvement of the human genome by honoring those who accidentally remove themselves from it...ensuring that the next generation is one idiot smarter.
And in the land of ninjas, one group who had been gathering the mythic tailed demons of the land was about to have that type of day.
Akatsuki had finished placing the Gobi no Houkou, the five tailed mythic dog, inside the demon sealing statue. As of that moment, they had but one Bijuu left, and that was the Kyuubi no Yoko that was sealed within Naruto Uzumaki.
Smiling as their victory seemed all but assured, one of the members who were present failed to notice a loose rock that was stuck in the ground ... and tripped.
He crashed into the statue, causing it to glow.
Their leader could only stare as their hard work prepared to end them all, and came to one finally thought: “Mother fuc—”
And all went black.
As the statue exploded, a strange miasma began to form from the center, spreading outwards in a quick and constant fashion. Within a few hours, it would cover hundreds of miles, as it continued on. It was a fog that would only bring death.
Well, death to the gender of what had been that of the Bijuu trapped inside the statue.
For the world, it was a bad day to be a male.
But one village was spared this fate. You see, in this village, an incredible chakra that belonged to the one beast not within the statue stayed the fog’s advance into the village. It however, did not stay the fog from surrounding it and continuing on.
When morning came and the fog continued to surround the village, the gates were sealed; trapping both visitor and resident within, not knowing if whatever was keeping the fog out would continue to do so. It would be the next day that they were able to determine that it was the sealed fox within Naruto that was keeping the fog away.
And it would be a few days after that that the fog faded away, and the village learned of the fate of any male who did not reside within those walls before the fog appeared.
