“This is very bad,” muttered Tsunade, as the ANBU gave their reports.
From what they had been able to determine, every male who had been outside the village when the cursed fog struck, were now dead. Tracing back to find the origins of the fog, they discovered the secret base of Akatsuki, and some accident with it and their storage device for the captured Bijuu had been the cause.
Which most likely meant the only reason that the males in the village were alive ... was because of their own Bijuu container, one Naruto Uzumaki.
And when word of that got out, many men were going to treat him as the hero the Fourth had requested him to be treated as.
Which meant this was the only village anywhere that the fog had reached where men still lived.
Well, except for one. The Kazekage of the Sand Village, Gaara, and his brother Kankuro, had been at the village for a diplomatic meeting. Their sister was here as well, but the word reaching them from the Sand Village was not good.
Though both Kages could agree that they never wanted to see Kankuro dancing around in his boxers, singing ‘Love Machine’ ever again.
“Agreed,” said Gaara. “Other villages will soon learn of your luck and try to attack you to gain males. My village will be a lesser target, with a higher female ratio. If I still had Shukaku, I may have been able to protect my village. But..”
“It doesn’t matter,” said Tsunade. “You still would have been here. And you are right, we won’t have much time before the females outside the village let the news spread. Our males will be targeted for capture, the bloodlines even more so.”
“Agreed,” he said. “I would like to set up whatever programs may be available for a greater genetic diversity in my village from this.”
“I’ll see what we can do.”
“You guys are looking at this all wrong,” said Jiraiya, as he was chatting with the other male jounins at a bar. “We are perhaps the last males on the planet. The women of the world are ours.”
“You mean we’ll become prisoners and caged, taken out only when needed, and only by those without the necessary equipment for us to go in a cup,” said Kakashi.
Ibiki sighed. “You know, I was looking for a special someone and have a few kids. I didn’t ever think I’d be taking applications and having more than a hundred.”
“You guys still ain’t getting it,” groused Jiraiya.
“You might want to read that book a little slower, Kakashi,” said Kotetsu, pointing at the Icha Icha Paradise book. “With the only men inside this village, I doubt they’ll be enough demand for the publishers to continue producing it ... if the publisher is even still around.”
The males in the bar paused whatever they were doing, as they slowly focused on the book. Thus they missed it as Jiraiya paled when that realization struck home, and he passed out.
