Switching Places/Eva!: Waitaminute, that sounds familiar... [Episode 179214]

Waitaminute. That sounded familiar.

Damn familiar, in fact.

Katsuragi Misato scowled, beginning to think.

"...And then, Akane..."

Misato nodded absentmindedly, her mind working furiously.

OK, OK, she had to check this up, but...

"Say, Ranma-kun, could you take care of Pen-Pen for a while? I just remembered I had to go buy something..."

Not that the Commander would like her leaving him alone in the apartment like that, but who cared, he surely had more 'watchers' on the boy then just her - she had other things to worry about, after all...

Ranma blinked, derailed for the moment. "Sure. What do you want me to do?"

About an hour later, Misato had managed to make it to the local Bookoff - the used bookstore mega-chain was going strong, even now - and had bought the entire series of 'Shinji 1/2' manga version in paper tankoumon format, all 37 plus 2 of the 'extra' volumes. She also managed to find a datadisc - probably 'grey market', but whatever - of the entire anime version.

And now for a place to read and watch the entire thing in comfort... Without having other people look over her shoulder, that is.

One Ikari Ranma topped the list of the people she didn't want to see her reading and watching this, after all.

Hmm... One of those Net-cafes with semi-private cubbies would do, maybe...

And several days later, Katsuragi Misato was in quite a different place entirely.

Misato sighed, looking over the room. Musical Instruments, check - and boy, were they expensive ones, too. As was the computer. And the clothes left hanging on the walls were all well made and were of good quality. The whole room was filled with pretty damn expensive-looking stuff, actually - it was quite clear that his relatives hadn't stinted on the things they gave one Ikari Ranma, that was for sure - well, not in monetary terms, anyhow.

Misato sighed, wondering just how much the Commander had been paying those people for the care of his son. A hell of a lot, was her guess.

Ahh, well.

And on one corner, there was a bookcase. The top shelves were filled with textbooks and sourcebooks and such, but the bottom selves...

Tons and tons of magazines, manga and entertainment novels. And...

Misato sighed, again.

And entire small bookcase near the window, filled with rather nice-looking figurines, based on characters from various animes and mangas if she remembered correctly...
