Fighting giant blobs of good wasn't exactly the sort of thing that he had expected to be dealing with when he'd gotten up in the morning.
Yet, that was what he had to do, as he bounced out of the way as a tentacle sliced through the air where he'd been standing only moments earlier. It resulted in him having to bend away from the appendage as it whipped up towards his chest. A third attack made him have to sidestep, so as to not get a point thrust through his eye. But if he tried to counter attack, such as by throwing a box at the monster, it just wound up reacting like a giant pile of black jello, or just oozed out of the way of the hits.
Of course, the whole thing was rather frustrating for him, given the fact that he was stuck handling this by himself. Glancing over his shoulder, he could see Cologne, still sitting calmly on her staff, like she had not a care in the world. The old hag was apparently perfectly willing to let him do all the work, which was going to be problematic at best. As it was, a straight on attack wasn't working, and his special techniques likely wouldn't work. After all, what use would the Hiryu Shoten Ha be if he didn't have enough room to get around the monster, and had too many people around him to be safe. Instead, he needed something that would work right now on the creature. Burying it would only slow it long enough for it to ooze free, and would likely bring attention when he didn't want it. On the other hand, fire would not only make it hard to fight, and would bring in company faster than someone could see need for company. About the only think that he thought that he could do was make it simply stop, but he knew that he'd need a really large refrigerator for it. Freezing something like that would take up a lot of space.
'That is it!' he declared to himself, and spotted a fire extinguisher on a nearby wall. Racing over to it, he leapt to grab it, and used the wall as a balancing point as he kicked off of it, and cartwheeled out of the way. Once that was done, he grinned and stood firm before the monster.
Cologne's voice was dry as she spoke. "What will you do with that?"
"Improvise," he cheerfully replied, and started spraying the monster with the contents of the extinguisher. It seemed to work, as the creature slowed, and then stopped moving as the spray passed over it. The black of its bulk became covered with white, and a light fog of particles started floating about them.
And soon enough, he was dropping the metal cylinder to the floor, and grinning. "See? What'd I tell ya?"
"Very impressive, son-in-law," the Amazon elder murmured, with the oddest little smirk on her face. "You just missed some rather basic problems."
"Like what?"
"Such as what we shall do when it thaws. Or the fact that we have to worry about company. And there is one point that must be recognized before doing anything else."
"And that is...."
"Realizing that you only sprayed one side of the monster."
"Eh? Aw hell...." the pigtailed boy muttered as he saw the quivering of goo from the side where she hadn't sprayed.
"What do you want to do now?"
"Gettin' outta here sounds pretty good right about now."
"I believe that I said that originally."
"Yeah, yeah," he grumbled, while:
