Nabiki was a little nonplussed by the way the two smoke rings hung in midair without dissipating. "Why should I tell a talking caterpillar?"
"Youuuu are moooost impoooolite," said the caterpillar, sending three more smoke rings into the air. "Tell me child, why are youuuu here?" Another smoke ring joined the set.
"I'm lost, and looking for a way out of the 'Forest Of Doors'," said Nabiki.
"Sooooo," said the caterpillar, "youuuuu are a little looooost waif? Soooo aloooone?"
"Yes, yes, doooo," began Nabiki, then stopped frowning as she found herself copying the speaking style. "Ahem, yes, do tell me if there is a way out of here?" Nabiki blinked and checked the rotating rings in midair. She had a bad feeling about this, but what could smoke rings do?
SWOOP!
Hanging suspended, upside down, with two smoke rings on each limb, one on her neck, one around her waist, and one encircling the top of her head, Nabiki chided herself for even thinking that. She should have known better.
"Now," said the caterpillar, taking a deep drag of her hookah. "We'll have a little talk."
"A little talk?" asked Nabiki.
"Oh yes," said the caterpillar, picking up a pair of scissors. "First though, you're a little overdressed."
"I'LL TALK! I'LL TALK! RANMA IS IN THAT AMAZON VILLAGE THINGIE," lied Hiroshi. "HE'S AFTER A CURE!"
"Hmmmm? Are you sure?" asked Akane, holding the end of the thin glass rod in one hand, a small mallet in the other. "You're selling out your buddy?"
"YES! YES! OF COURSE I AM! ah-ha-ha-ha-ha," said Hiroshi. "I'm always selling out Ranma. Ask anyone!"
"Hmmmm," said Akane, thoughtfully. "Oddly enough, I believe you."
"Mmmmhmmmmm," said Hiroshi, staring at the little glass pipette.
"Well, darn, I was looking forward to this," said Akane, pulling the glass rod out. "One little smash..."
"Ah hah," said Hiroshi, who had realized what was about to happen and would have sold out just about anyone at that point. "So?"
"I'll have to investigate further," said Akane. "Don't worry though. I know where to find you if this proves to be a lie..."
smash
Hiroshi fainted.
"Look, it's him."
"The Heir!"
"oooh he's cute!"
Ranma felt a little nervous at all this, with the crowd of women lined up to see him. "Ah, this is..."
"Oh this," said Quistis. "This is..."
