Great Will: Salusian Nation [Episode 179515]

by Red Priest of the 17th Order

Even so, not all races were comfortable with all conditions. For example there were the Salusians, who found static cling to be a problem. Being a race that was covered from head to toe in fur became problematic for one who chose to come to a planet with a lot of friction-inducing surfaces.

There was also the annoyance of being compared to an animal indigenous to earth that not only had comparison to them in not only appearance, but some similar biology, but also had the significant knowledge of being rather smelly. Being considered kin with a skunk wasn’t a high on a Salusian’s list of daily occurrences.

But a little static cling or verbal commentary wasn’t going to keep the Salusians from coming to earth. The atmosphere, not only of it’s components of oxygen ratio, but the temperatures were of something extremely similar to the regions of the planet Salusia. It made sense to come to the planet and put on a good showing for the natives.

Still, for all the huge battle ships of their military fleets, the regal trappings and language of their people, not to mention the air of refinement that Salusians could portray to others, they were a race that still had connections to their roots of origin.

They were traders.

Before the different interstellar-species started to settle in the universe into the zenith of tech and understanding they were now, a lot of traces, (although most wouldn’t admit to it) were quite as warlike as earth. For example, the Juraians, one of the most intellectual beings that were harmonically balance with their planet, were once volatile, blood-thirsty space pirates!

And the Salusians, while not fighters, still played a role which was one that would set their path for the rest of their history. As scavengers, they would comb through destroyed space-stations, abandoned spacecraft, battle-fields, and dead planets to salvage what they could for resale back to the species of the tech’s origin, or to other species.

Ironically, it had been these actions which had boosted the rate of growth of acceptance and peace amongst all races. As goods were shared, so were ideas, and in time, understanding as people looked for more from the source rather than what a Salusian could give them. While it was beneficial in the long run, such actions were what brought up the concept of ‘contamination’ amongst the vast majority of the galaxy, and the idea that beings should leave other beings intellectually behind to themselves to develop a culture on their own which, when ready, they could come into contact with.

Unfortunately, (or fortunately) because of an accident the Greys had, Earth was spared of having to go through possibly a couple more millennia of quarantine from the rest of the galaxy, and were able to start to adapt to the new technology, ideas, and races that were coming to their planet.

In the time that the Salusians started coming to earth in the mid-1960’s, the skunk-like people were a very artistically-inclined race of Merchants; artisans, metal-crafters, technicians, scholars, and the like. They were the richest race in the galaxy as far as finances were concerned, as when peace was established, their ways of trade were already set and could be acted out openly, and their business partners were more than happy to continue their fiscal relationships.

And where their business went, so would they. And it didn’t hurt any that there would be new people to trade with, as not only could they entice new purchases through products unheard of by earth, but they would inevitably become the greatest source of NEEDED goods by other races.

For example, the Tkk’rnn needed vast quantities of not only equipment, but the chemical components to continually create the atmosphere needed to survive on earth. Not only could the Salusians provide such, but they could also provide goods and services from the Tkk’rnn’s home-world, stuff that would be impossible to purchase on earth otherwise.

From their initial coming to earth, the Salusians would repeat history. While not the greatest or most advanced of races, it was them that would bring more of the tech and lore from across the galaxies to the planet earth. Items that would help bring man greater enlightenment on the universe around them; a digestible pill that could be taken every twenty-four hours to instill the user with the ability with communicative abilities of another race would become staple to the population of earth. Indeed, the Salusians, even with the slight irritants they would have to endure on earth, would become a respected...

And make a tidy profit while they were at it, too.
