Yu-gi-Oh, My: Cards: Ranma, Envoy of the Beginning [Episode 17974]

by HistorianoftheKais

Unknown to anyone Jusenkyo possessed a strong, if chaotic, connection to the Shadow Realm. In fact, the training ground was in fact a shadow game where the price for losing was the transformation curse. Normally the fact that the curse was a shadow penalty made any attempt at curing the curse impossible. However, Ranma's wish was to change the curse form instead of removing the curse. Since there was nothing in the Jusenkyo shadow game's rules about changing the cursed form the change went through.

There was one catch to the change of the curse that the shadow magic caused. Since the curse was a penalty Ranma wasn't able to choose what his new form was. Instead the shadow magic brought Ranma's Ka beast out of Ranma's heart and made that his cursed form. This, the semi-conscious magical force of the Shadow Realm decided, was the only fair solution to this new conundrum.

Some people's Ka Beasts are naturally very strong and have a determined form at birth. However, most peoples' Ka Beasts grow and change a bit as a person goes through life. Ranma's Ka Beast was extremely surprising because it was both naturally powerful and it reflected his life. One would have a hard time trying to find the almost unique connection that Ranma shared with the Black Luster Soldier Envoy of the Beginning.

Everyone in the Tendo yard watched in silent surprise as a sphere of shadows formed around Ranma. No one dared to approach the sphere because of the thunder that everyone heard emanating from the sphere and the dark sense of foreboding that came from the sphere. The sphere disappeared a few moments later to reveal Ranma wearing blue and gold armor, having a hand on a shield, and holding a very nasty looking curved sword.
