"Mistress Ukyo, aren't you going to school today?" Konatsu asked as he entered the room.
Then he just stared. "U-Ukyo?"
"What's the matter?" the leather-clad amazon wearing extremely feminine armor asked. "Can't a girl dress differently once in a while without causing an uproar?"
"B-but mistress, this costume... I mean... uh..."
"Yeah, what of it?" Ukyo asked while fastening a strap of her harness.
Konatsu shook his head. "Whatever happened to your spatula?"
"I just wanted to try something different," Ukyo exclaimed while she grabbed her new battle axe and a polishing stone. "And this weapon is kinda similar to it, isn't it?"
"Well, that's kinda true," the male kunoichi admitted. "But, say... What about your image as a master chef of okonomiyaki martial arts?"
"I still can do okonomiyaki martial arts," Ukyo said after sharpening the blade of her new weapon. "But today, I just felt like a change."
Experimentally, she swooshed her massive weapon through the air. "Looks impressive, huh?"
"Naturally..." Konatsu murmured. "Although it is kinda, ehem... medieval."
"Yeah, that's what I was hoping for," Ukyo grinned. "From now on, my image will change every Friday, and in this costume I shall be known as 'Ukyo the troll-slayer'!"
Konatsu just sweat-dropped.
----
"Kasumi, we're leaving for school," Akane called out.
"Well, see you later then..." Kasumi replied. "Oh wait! Don't forget your lunch!"
"Ah, almost forgot!" Akane said and stepped back inside. "Thanks, oneechan!"
Kasumi smiled. "Don't mention it!"
Then she frowned. "That's strange..."
"Huh? What is it, Kasumi?"
"Well, I know I have prepared three lunch boxes for you, Nabiki and Ranma, but... there is not a single one left."
"What? How can that...? RANMA!"
"Hey, it wasn't me!" the pig-tailed boy defended himself. "I don't have any lunch box with me, see?"
"But if not you, who else could have...?"
----
Nabiki, having left earlier than her younger sister and her fiance, gleefully chuckled while carrying the three lunch boxes Kasumi had prepared. Stealing lunch wasn't really as enriching as normal thefts would be, but not only was it a good practice... she surely wouldn't get hungry today.
Drawing one of the daggers she usually hid underneath her school uniform's skirt, she stuck it into one of the octopus balls that Kasumi had prepared and moved it towards her mouth, where she took a big bite.
Hmmmmm... delicious!
----
"I don't know what's gotten into Nabiki..." Akane murmured while walking along her usual path to school. "I mean, just stealing our lunch like this? I would have expected this from you or your father, but my own sister?"
Ranma chuckled. "Heh, maybe it was just some kind of joke because I turned her character into a thief..."
"What are you babbling about?"
"Well, you know, there's this cool game Hiroshi gave to me and..."
He blinked. "Say, Akane... since when is your school uniform white?"
"What's that supposed to mean? I just felt like a change, that's all..."
"Um, if you say so... Anyway, about this game..."
He still couldn't continue, as they ran past some kids who were playing with water pistols, and of course, a small jet of water hit Ranma right into the chest.
"Great..." the redhead murmured. "I'm not even in school yet, and I'm already a... girl?"
She looked down at herself. Gone was her Chinese shirt and the usual pants. Gone was the pigtail, replaced by a luscious mane of flaming red hair. Looking at Ranma, Akane saw the same cute girl she already knew... but dressed within silky, black robes that emphasized her curves just right, and underneath, a medieval bodysuit that couldn't be more feminine. And was that jewelry she saw?
Ranma tugged at the bracelets around her wrists and the earrings dangling from her earlobes. Afterwards, she just stared at the staff that had appeared within her hands. It was tipped with a black pearl.
"Oh no, this is... Don't tell me..."
"Ranma, what has happened to you?"
The red-headed Black Mage grinned back at her White Mage fiancee. "You may as well call me 'Ranko', Akane... I believe I messed up big time..."
----
"A magical computer game?" Akane huffed. "Surely, you don't expect me to believe that, do you?"
"Oh no?" Ranko grumbled. "And you haven't by any chance used some strange healing powers that you didn't have before yesterday?"
Akane thought about it. Yes, she had healed Gosunkugi... and the strangest thing was, she was looking forward to help even more people with her new powers.
"Well, I guess it might be true after all..."
Suddenly, the Black Mage gasped. "Oh no!"
"Now what's wrong?" Akane asked.
Ranko laughed nervously. "Um, I might... have done something to the school, you know?"
----
Ranko and Akane stared flabbergasted at the... unusual stone complex that had replaced the modern school building. Towers and spires like from a European castle, marmoreal walls and pillars, and pupils that were dressed in all kinds of different, medieval garments.
"Don't tell me you changed everyone into heroes..." Akane muttered.
Ranko shook her head. "No... but a starting level needs some NPCs, right? And after all, this is a training facility... Surely you don't expect us to be the only party-in-training, right?"
"Oh, Ranma..." Akane sighed. "When you mess up, you mess up big time..."
"Heya Ranchan, Akane!" a cheerful voice called them. "Over here!"
While Akane just stared at the nearly scandalous outfit of Ukyo the amazon, Ranko could only groan.
Ukyo strode up to them with a wide grin. "Hey, you got new outfits as well I see. Isn't this GREAT? Now this is how school must be. I really don't know why the principal got the idea to turn the school into something like THIS, but I certainly don't mind!"
She hugged her new weapon lovingly. "This new battle axe just rocks! I came early today, and I already managed to chop down four Red Blobs... the teacher - although he calls himself instructor now - said I should defeat only a few more, and I should rise a level. Do you know what that means?"
"I only know about a certain red-haired 'sorceress' who will be in major trouble if she doesn't get back home and fixes this ASAP," Akane grumbled.
Ranko just winced.
Just then, Nabiki came walking up to them. "Hey, why are you three still out here? The principal has assigned us to be a team."
"You too, Nabiki?" Akane wondered as her gaze fell upon the leather outfit of the new thief. "But you aren't even in our class."
"Hey, it wasn't my decision. Now should we go or do you want to keep the principal waiting?"
Ranko pondered about this turn of events... and then she smiled. "Somehow, I like this. Hey, Akane... What do you say? Let's give it a try! I mean, what could possibly happen? I created this training level and I know it isn't too dangerous. It might be fun, you know? We can always change everything back later."
"Okay, fine..." the Healer of the new party grumbled. "But I hope for your sake that you don't expect me to fight any tentacle monster..."
