CHOP!
SLICE!
"Fireball!" BOOM!
BAM! "Oh, I'm sorry... I didn't mean to hurt you."
"Dammit, Akane!" Ukyo yelled in rage. "If you keep healing those goblins, revive them and give them lollipops, just how are we gonna defeat them?"
"Well, excuse me..." the White Mage grumbled. "But..." She fiddled with her thumbs. "When I see them there, lying on the ground, I feel sorry for them..."
"Akane, they are monsters," Ranko reminded her. "Dispensable creatures whose only purpose is to be bashed up by heroes like us... It's like this in every adventure game."
"So, how do you figure this is a game?" Ukyo asked.
Nabiki grinned while pocketing the money the monsters have dropped. "I have the feeling it might have something to do with that computer game you brought home yesterday... Right, Saotome?"
She hefted the heavy pouch, which was full of golden coins. "I should be angry at you for changing us all like this, together with the school... But somehow, when I see all of this..." She grinned and clutched the pouch to her chest. "I can't possibly stay mad at you."
----
"Ranchan made all of this up?" Ukyo wondered while they continued to walk through the corridors of the new training dungeon of Furinkan. "With a magical game?"
"Well, I certainly didn't expect it to end like this," Ranko defended herself. "Or at least I'd have created my character as a male."
"You're lucky I've turned into such a pacifist, Ranma..." Akane muttered. "Or else I would have pounded you through the ground until you reach the other side of the planet."
"Hey, relax, sugar," Ukyo grinned. "I mean, it was an accident and all, but come on! Isn't this fun?" Grinning, she hefted her battle axe. "I can't wait to reach my next level to learn a new battle skill."
"Still, I kinda feel bad for those students that have been turned into monsters for scripted battles," Ranko sighed as she electrocuted yet another Red Blob with her Lightning spell.
Nabiki nodded. "Yeah, remember the Chemistry club? I mean, they certainly had cool stuff to steal, but... You seriously have to pity some guys that have been turned into a pack of Goblin Alchemists..."
Suddenly, they heard a creaking sound.
"What the...?" Akane asked. "Another trap?"
Nabiki shook her head. "Nope, can't detect anything, so that means we're safe."
"Or you just botched your ability roll..." Ranko grumbled.
But they relaxed when they saw a door opening in front of them.
Akane smiled. "Hey, look who it is! Hey, Sayuri! Yuka! Hiroshi and Daisuke!"
Daisuke, who looked like a dwarf with a stubby beard and a war hammer that was almost as big as himself, waved. "Hey, guys! We almost thought we got lost or something. I believe Hiroshi keeps leading us around in circles."
"Well, is it my fault that all of those corridors look the same?" the swordsman asked. "By the way, Ranma... those enemies seem to look suspiciously familiar to those from that 'RPG Reality' game I gave to you..."
"You could say that," Ranko nodded. "It turns out that this game has turned everything I designed into reality... and thus, the school transformed into a dungeon. And please, call me Ranko! Somehow, the game changed my identity after my curse had been activated, and every time I hear my normal name, it somehow feels... weird." She shuddered. "That's the only thing I hate about being a powerful Black Mage."
"Figures Ranma would come up with something like that..." the Elven Ranger Sayuri sighed. "But Ranma... Sorry, I mean, Ranko: If you have designed the dungeon by yourself, why don't you just head for the exit?"
"Sayuri, Sayuri..." Summoner Yuka shook her head. "You really haven't played any RPGs before, did you? It's all about experience! You don't just go to the end of the level if you aren't strong enough. I mean, what if Ranma has placed a strong boss enemy in front of the exit? We wouldn't be able to beat him if we don't raise some levels ourselves."
"Um... I just pretend I understood what you just said," Sayuri replied, the only game she liked to play being volleyball.
"Anyhow, you seem to have chosen some good characters for your own party, Hiroshi," Ranko grinned. "I bet you spent some time at your own PC with that game, eh? So, not all of those changes are my fault after all."
"Well, actually, I didn't really use Daisuke and the girls as my heroes," the swordsman replied. "My guess is that the game just provided those teams that haven't chosen a profession with a fitting combination of character classes."
"Might be," Ukyo nodded. "But, hey! What characters did you use, if not yourself?"
"Um... I used some characters from a certain Anime..." He grinned. "I just love that show!"
"And just what kind of Anime would that be?" the elf-ranger asked her boyfriend.
Sheepishly, Hiroshi scratched the back of his head. "Um... Is anyone around here familiar with the magic spell called 'Dragon Slave'?"
Nabiki wasn't the only one to gasp. "Oh no..." the mercenary girl turned thief muttered. "You didn't... You wouldn't... You didn't use HER, did you?"
----
"FLARE ARROW!"
The goblins screamed as yet another magic spell turned them into charcoal.
Gourry Gabriev winced as a part of the ceiling fell down on his head. "Careful, Lina... you don't want to bury us."
"I have no time for subtleties," the red-haired sorceress grumbled. "I'm hungry, I'm mad and I'm stuck inside some unknown dungeon with loads of dirty creatures whose name I don't even know."
"Don't worry, Lina-san," a short, spunky girl with a white outfit and a bigger bust than Lina herself said. "As we are champions of justice, nothing will stop us on our way to victory! We will find those villains who placed us here and call them to account."
"Let's just hope this isn't one of Xellos' stupid tricks..." a silent man with grey skin muttered from behind her.
"Be quiet, Zel," Lina hissed. "I hear voices..."
The short girl smirked. "A-hah! Those must be the fiends that kidnapped us right away from our lunch table."
"Amelia, ssshhhh! Now, are you ready, everyone? We'll simply take them by surprise. On the count of three... One... two..."
And thus, Lina Inverse, the Bandit Killer, Dragon Spooker and Enemy of all who live, found her way into the transformed school of Furinkan.
And the madness factor of Nerima just reached an off scale reading...
