Setsuna's Trekking: Strange Bedfellows [Episode 180252]

by The Demented Redhead

Kirk almost smiled. “I never thought I would be glad to see Klingons.”

“I never thought you’d say something like that,” said Dr. McCoy.

“Indeed,” said Spock.

“They’re hailing us, sir,” said Uhura.

“On screen,” said Kirk, taking his seat.

“Ah, Captain,” said the familiar face to Kirk.

“Captain Kor,” said Kirk. “I haven’t seen you since the Organia Treaty. What are you doing here?”

“Dealing with the fallout,” said the Klingon. “It would seem some of the leaders of the Empire had been hoping for a glorious war. But I digress. I have heard that you are taking on a new crewmember, assigned from Naireema I believe.”

“What makes you wonder that?” he asked, wondering how the Klingons had heard of such a thing. But then given how much the timeline had been changed, he wouldn’t be surprised if it was common knowledge.

“It’s common knowledge.”

Well there you go.

“Besides, the young Lord and I have matters to attend to?”

“Such as?”

Kor smiled. “I wanted a rematch against him. We sparred once on Naireema, and the young targ actually beat me.”

“Impressive,” said Spock.

“Indeed,” smiled the Klingon. “I gave him some of our fighting styles to look over, as he did for me, and we agreed to a rematch.”

“Well, we will be meeting him within a few hours,” said Kirk. “I have nothing against you staying around. Will the fight be on your ship or his?”

“I was hoping to use yours,” said Kor. “From what I know, you have a bigger ... gym, was it, than what we have here. Many of my crew want to witness such a battle.”

“We’ll ... see what we can do.”

“Thank you. Kor out.”

As the image was replaced with the Klingon ship, Kirk sighed. “Even Klingons are different.”

“I do find myself interested in seeing this spar,” said Spock. “For Mr. Saotome to have not only defeated a Klingon of Kor’s skill, but to have earned his respect is quite fascinating.”

“Was it just me,” said McCoy, “or was there a young Klingon female in the background who resembled Kor?”

“Is this the damn ship?” asked a redheaded Amazon girl.

“Be calm, Aah Ska,” said a small elderly woman. “We are quite fortunate your errant husband is where the young Lord is heading, lest we not bring you with us.”

Aah Ska growled. “I don’t need your help.”

Shan Pu smiled. “Oh, and you’ve done so well getting off-world to find him until now.

A coughing sound stopped any fight before it could begin. The Elder turned, spotting three girls. “May we help you?”

The ninja of the group bowed. “We wish to purchase passage on your ship.”

“And you are?”

“I am Nabiki, the one on the right is my sister Akane, and the other is my sister Kasumi.”

“I am Elder Khu Lon, but you may address me as Cologne. The girl on the right is my great-granddaughter Shampoo,” she said, deciding not to say the original names to the girls, “and the other is Asuka. May I ask the reason for this journey?”

“Because our father’s an idiot,” growled Akane.

Nabiki was about to correct her sister—they didn’t need to announce personal problems to others—when Cologne smiled. “Welcome aboard, please pay on of the girls at the airlock before getting aboard. We’ll be leaving in about half an hour.”

“Great-grandmother,” whispered Shampoo as the girls passed, “why are we taking them.”

The Elder merely smoked her pipe. “You would do well to learn to listen to rumors child. It seems that a lot of commotion has been made about Lord Ranma’s posting to a Federation Ship as an ambassador and a crew member. It is of little doubt that these girls are truly after him for some reason.”

“Then why bring them with us?” asked Asuka. “Do we get to toss them out an airlock into deep space?” she asked with a smile.

WHAM!

“We are not pirates like the Musk, child,” growled out Cologne. “We will observe, we will learn, and we will respond accordingly.

“Besides, the more that are after him that we can observe and control, the greater our chances will be to have influence if he is forced to marry the Oni Princess.”

Seeing them slowly agree, she pointed towards a few crates. “Now get that damn cargo aboard so we can set off. Even with the new engines, we’ll still have to hope he doesn’t leave with the Federation ship or we’ll never catch them.”

“Where did Ami go?” asked Setsuna.

“She went to monitor the engines,” said Rei, laying on the bed, and watching as the stars streaked by. “She’s the Engineer.”

“And Haruka and Michiru are on the bridge,” said Minako. “Mako-chan got called away to the galley to make something to eat.”

“So we each have positions other than as maids,” said Setsuna.

“Excuse me,” said Hotaru, popping in.

“Yes?” asked Setsuna.

“It is time for Master’s bath,” said Hotaru. “The Emperor requested that the first meeting be done in dress uniform.”

“And?” asked Rei.

Hotaru sighed. “Usagi needs to go help him bathe.”

“What?” came the high squeak of the former Moon Princess.
