Unlike Sasuke, who was his OWN ninja and displayed the traits that Tatewaki deemed most desirable (fawning toady worm kind of thing), this particular ninja was his sister's. SHE preferred silent-deadly-and-competent.
Said kunoichi shook her head at being made to have to explain this again. She much preferred as little speech as possible, especially if it were to Tatewaki. "The three daughters Tendo. Sent after Saotome."
"Saotome?" Kuno asked, apparently lost in thought.
The kunoichi considered how likely that thought would die of terminal loneliness. "Number eight."
"Eighth of the Twelve Families? THAT Saotome?" asked Tatewaki.
The kunoichi, whose name was S'nya, merely nodded.
"Why would he send them, particularly the tidy Akane, after that retrograde family?" asked Tatewaki.
"Marriage arrangement. Family honor," answered S'nya. She didn't like her mistress' brother. She didn't like her mistress that much either, but it was definite that she'd rather deal with Kodachi than Tatewaki.
"Ah," said Kuno, nodding. "I see. I see. That makes... excuse me?"
S'nya shrugged and turned to go. With any luck she could catch a quick nap in the secret ceiling passage before her mistress came along.
"Family honor? Marriage? He? What?" asked Tatewaki Kuno, coming to an incorrect but understandable conclusion. "THAT CAD!"
"He doesn't want it, fled, mission for Emperor, Federation" stated S'nya.
"WHAT?! He... doesn't?" asked Tatewaki. "The Emperor? Wait one moment - where did that crazy kunoichi go NOW? It matters not. I know my duty clear. Sasuke!"
POP! "You rang, Your Eminence?"
"Indeed," said Kuno, "prepare the Kuno family yacht. We have to nip these foul lies in the bud and rescue a fair damsel from the Federation!"
"You do realize that the space yacht we have is an old refurbished de-weaponed Onii cruiser?" asked Sasuke.
"What of it?" asked Kuno.
"Never mind," sighed Sasuke. Now how was he to get ahold of weapons suitable for challenging the Federation?
Haruka Ten'ou stood on the bridge of the Saotome Family Yacht (space version) and was suitably... well, impressed was not the right word.
She'd expected blinky lights flashing out of sequence, LCD screens, sleek consoles with high tech gadgetry everywhere the eye could see.
Instead she was in something a little like a traditional Japanese sitting room crossed with a steamship helm, except there was a large flat-panel TV at the front of the room, and there were several small tables with cobbled-together looking gadgets. Instead of high tech displays there were old fashioned gauges and even bells and whistles. There was even one of those controls where the speed was set on a ratcheting lever.
It was currently set for [Full Ahead].
"I'm Communications Officer?" asked Michiru, sitting down on the mat in front of a set of gadgetry.
"I'm Helmsman?" asked Haruka. "Okay, this might have possibilities. What does Warp 2.7 translate to in terms of speed? Is that fast?"
"I did WHAT?" asked Captain James T. Kirk.
"Defeated an Amazon of the Warrior Tribe of Nichieju of Naireema," said Doctor McCoy, apparently amused. "Some sort of fringe group on that planet. She gave you the Kiss Of Marriage and declared you her beloved husband despite the age difference."
"What age difference?" asked the captain.
"She's sixteen," said Doctor McCoy.
"Oh boy," said the captain, covering his eyes. "So I've got a warrior Vulcan and a warrior of this Naireema place both of whom feel they are married to me by their laws... they haven't met, have they?"
"Should be fascinating," said Doctor McCoy, glancing at Spock.
"Indeed," agreed Spock.
"Captain," said Ensign Hibiki, thinking this looked like a good time to interrupt. "A vessel has just entered the system."
