Still, he stood there, at a loss as to what exactly to do. It wasn't that he didn't want to do something to get the boy back on his feet, but that he didn't know what he should do. Simply acting on a whim could hurt worse than it could help. His son could be suffering from anything from a really bad stomachache, to an irritated appendix, to some sort of nausea from the trip to this world. As it could be any or none of those, he stood there, uncertain as to which direction he should move in.
"Stupid boy," he grumbled under his breath. "Can't you bear your pain like a man. See how well I do with mine?"
Of course, he could always belittle his son for a weakness. That was always safe.
But something certainly was wrong, as his son was entirely too caught up in his pain to be faking it. Rather, he seemed to be wrapping himself up around the pain, so that he could mentally localize and isolate it. It might have been an instinctual thing, but Genma was fairly pleased that his son was at least trying to steady himself. In fact, the boy was even reaching out for things to brace himself against.
Holding onto a metal pole did work out pretty well, as it did give him a secure and tough thing to hold on to. What it was made out of allowed it to take a lot of stress, so Ranma was able to have it in a white knuckle hold without causing real damage to it. Though, he didn't seem to be using his full strength, as that might have actually dented the metal. Instead, it seemed that the pain was dulling the power of his hold, and making him a bit off in the use of his fighting abilities.
That truly was unfortunate in Genma's eyes, as he understood that such illnesses could be a real bother for those involved in it. Plus it seemed to be getting a bit chilly there, which would simply not help the boy's constitution at all. Such conditions simply would not do, but he knew ways to find a place where he could keep the boy relatively well. It would be a bother, but looking down at the boy, he could see... frost showing up where his son was gripping the pole?
Genma blinked and had to look away twice before he could acknowledge that what he saw was real. There really was a light coating of frost on the pole, near his son's fingers. Heck, there even seemed to be a little bit of fog accompanying it, which was rather odd, considering the fact that it wasn't supposed to be that cold during this time of year. By all that he could see, it actually seemed that the boy himself was actually causing it, which would have seemed totally preposterous if they hadn't been launched into this strange world.
Instead, it just didn't seem to be all that possible even if he could see the evidence that it was happening, while:
