Of course, the appearance of helicopters with cameras on them made it rather clear that things were not about to be all that... simple for him. Even he could identify a news chopper, as they'd shown up on enough television shows and movies to make it easy. It was just that there were so many of them that he started wondering how there were enough stations for them, and if he really rated this much coverage.
With a drop of sweat beading on his brow, he leapt along, trying to figure out just where to go in this strange place. Where he lived, there were so many people packed closely, but this place had a lot of area that wasn't taken up. In fact, he could see an area that was large and seemingly empty up ahead. He considered going there, and bounded off towards it, knowing that if he could get there, then he could hide on a hill or something.
He decided against it, since it smelled a lot like the piles of garbage there. In his opinion, the seagulls that flocked there could have the smelly place.
However, that still left him with a lot of problems. What he needed was an airport, so that this way he could fly back to Japan. If he couldn't manage that, then it might be best to be able to get on a boat and take the long road to his homeland. At this point, he wasn't going to be picky, considering the fact that he was pretty sure that he'd seen the flashing lights of cop cars around too.
Getting out of there was the most important thing, and as he was close to what looked like a major street, he followed that as best he could. There was no certainty to that plan, but given what he'd already had to work with, it was better than nothing. Following the long stretch of asphalt, he hoped to find a place where he wouldn't get more aggravation out of this little escapade.
Instead, he got what looked like a bit of highway, and when he saw that it was not going to be like the smaller streets that he'd already passed, he recognized that his previous leaps weren't going to work. But, as he'd already gotten ready to leap before he recognized that, he knew that he couldn't stop at that point. Rather, he pushed himself, to put more power into his leap, and when he did that, he managed to look like he was running in the air above the wide road.
It was just when he started coming down towards the building that he'd been aiming for when he saw that the height that he'd reached was going to make for problems when he landed on the roof that he'd been aiming for.
That proved to be correct when his foot touched the rooftop, and... wound up going through the material. His momentum was so great that the building materials hadn't had a chance, and he crashed right through the roof to land in a pile of debris on the floor. Despite the fact that he had not tried for this little diversion, it still forced him to go through the loud, inelegant, and rather bothersome crash into the building.
"At least when Shampoo bangs in on ya, ya don't have ta get it like this," he muttered to himself as he rubbed the back of his head as he looked around to see:
