Nothing seemed to happen as Shinji sat on the monorail and the night air became fit for sleep. He was curled into a ball on the seat and began to shut his eyes. Eventually, he drifted into sleep...
The Nightmare Shinji had been here before, a blurred room, strange faces, and looming tools over him. This was all part of a dream he had for as long as he could remember. He couldn't tell what everyone was saying either, but was able to hear a few things: "...mutation... complete..." "...signs normal... no..." "...conversion... success" There was always one face he could see though, the face of a middle aged man. Shinji didn't know who he was, but was able to hear, "Welcome to your new life..."
Back in Life But before he could fully hear what the man said, Shinji awoke with a scream, "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!!!" Shinji fell onto the floor of the monorail and breathed heavily as cold sweat poured down his face. Thankfully, it didn't look like anyone saw him scream...
