The monorail system between Tokyo's 2 and 3 were always busy, even in the evening. Viewing it, one could assume that the crowds never stayed the same. There was one person who had always remained riding it and rarely left.
It was a young boy in a white shirt and black pants. No mother, father or sibling stood beside him and no person bothered to talk to him. He was simply a person who remained on the monorail and had no other place to go to. This boy was known only as Shinji, though no one ever bothered to ask who he was. In fact, he himself didn't know who he was. He was alone for as long as he could remember.
Night time had come and the young boy curled himself up in his seat and began to fall asleep...
