John Stewart simply enjoyed his first day off in a while. Granted, it hadn’t been a planned day off, nor was it an approved one. He was technically still on a mission to assemble a new teenage super hero group.
But he’d be damned if he was going to bring up Static and crew with things as they were.
“Welcome once again to the Watch Tower. Please ignore the moaning women; they’re currently indisposed since your new teammates are currently going at it like there’s no tomorrow.”
Oh yeah, he was sure that would go over well. Things we so much simpler when he was younger.
Luckily, his musings were cut short as a siren was heard; a group of police cars streaking down the street towards whatever warranted their attention. “Well,” he said, heading towards a vacant alley, “might as well go say ‘Hi’ to everyone.”
With that, soon the Green Lantern would join the fight, and hope it wasn’t simply a cat stuck in a tree.
“Are they done yet?” asked J’onn J’onzz. The Martian was starting to get upset. Since the couple had ‘started’, the psychic emanations had only intensified, and even non-psychic members of the Justice League were starting to experience the results of their bonding.
Dr. Fate barely looked up from the book he had been reading. “Must you ask that every hour?”
“I was unaware human mating took this long,” J’onn grumbled.
Dr. Fate could only chuckle as yet another female worker collapsed to the deck, a smile on her face. “You should get out more then.”
“This is a one time thing, correct?” asked J’onn. “If not, I’ll need to set up a location for them to ... continue in the future.”
“Might have to do that anyway,” said Fate. “I think they’ll need a similar setup to the Titans.”
The Martian Manhunter was grateful for that at least; plenty of open spaces to put them around Dakota.
Of course, the happy couple needed to finish first. I wonder if it would be wrong to see if the Lantern Corps could take them for some training first, if this keeps happening?
“OH GOD; YES, YES, YEEEESSSSSSSS!”
He fought so hard to keep the twitch off his face. “Any reason they keep coming up here to do that?”
Fate shrugged. “One of those mysteries of the universe, I would imagine.”
