"Uh huh," said Nabiki. "This guy have a name?"
grind thump.
Nodoka's eyes were bright. "Ah yes. His name was the Doctor."
grind thump.
"Doctor who?" asked Nabiki.
grind thump.
"What's that noise?" asked Kasumi.
grind thump. grinnnndd thump grinnnnnnnnnnnnd thump grind thunk.
"Why is there a blue closet sitting in our backyard?" asked Kasumi, drawing everyone's attention to the object there.
"Ah, right on time," said Nodoka. "A sense of timing is very important in manly tasks."
"Eh?" asked a shell-shocked Ranma.
"Ranma, this is your father," said Nodoka.
The doors opened and an unfamiliar someone got out. "Here we go. There's another Time Lord about! I'm not alone! Who'd have thought we'd find one at Heathrow! Err. Wait a tick."
"This is NOT Heathrow," pointed out Nabiki helpfully.
"That's odd," said the Doctor. "According to the TARDIS there's a Time Lord around."
"Who are you? Where is the Doctor?" asked Nodoka of the fellow with the nearly-shaved head.
"I am the Doctor, and... do I know you?" asked the fellow as a blonde woman stuck her head out of the TARDIS.
"Ah, then you've regenerated," said Nodoka with a nod. "Yes, you were telling me about that when you were dealing with the poison."
The guy looked as if you could have struck him with a wrecking ball and he'd only be moderately stunned in comparison. "Wait a tick... poison. Tokyo. It couldn't..."
"You were a little out of it," said Nodoka. "This is your new companion?"
"He's a real playboy type, is he?" asked Akane with a scowl.
"Not quite dear," said Nodoka. "From what he was saying he has a lifespan measured in millenia. For him, all he could manage is brief affairs or friendships lasting ten years or so before he has to move on. Of course, with a son now he has a chance to get on a bit better."
Thump!
The Doctor came through a number of shocks in life with little reaction. Therefore his falling backwards to land on his butt and stare at the woman and at the boy next to him was completely out of character. "...son?!"
"As I said, Ranma, this is your father," said Nodoka.
"Uhm, hi Pop," said Ranma, very confused at this point.
"So this 'Doctor' is an alien with a very long lifespan?" asked Nabiki.
"Oh yes, and he has adventures in both time and space, meeting all sorts of exciting and interesting people," said Nodoka. "We had a bit of discussion while he was hiding from the timetravelling clockwork ninjas and he was recovering from the poison."
"Timetravelling-" said Akane.
"-clockwork-" said Nabiki.
"-ninja?" asked Kasumi.
"oh my," said the Doctor.
"You've got a son?" asked the blonde girl. "Any other kids?"
"I had a granddaughter named Susan at one point, but I'm alone now, everyone's dead," said the Doctor, beginning to catch up himself. Well, he HAD been kind of delirious at that point.
"Except him, then," said the blonde girl, looking at the young boy. "Well, come on then. Might as well give you the fifty-yen tour. Looks like he's still catching up. Expect finding out you're not completely extinct after all is a bit of a shocker."
