There was a feeling of movement, a vast rushing, and then she was no longer in her room.
Nabiki looked wildly around her, finding herself seated and wearing her blue kimono. Kasumi was to her right, Akane to her left.
Genma and Ranma were sitting opposite them, with her father off to the side of the table. Ranma's mother, looking subtly different in ways that Nabiki was not familiar enough with to determine immediately, was sitting next to Ranma.
A glance at her watch, then a few moments of reflection, and she had the WHEN down as well as the where. This was two days after Ranma's arrival, which should have been LONG before Ranma met his mother.
"I'm sorry, but Ranma cannot marry one of your daughters," said Nodoka, bowing in apology.
"Why not?" asked Soun, eyeing Genma.
"Alas, it is..." Nodoka clearly hesitated, glancing at both husband and son before bowing from her seated position again. "As you've stated, the agreement is for Genma's son and one of Tendo-san's daughters. However - Genma is not Ranma's father."
"WHAT?!" erupted from everyone except Nodoka and Nabiki. Though Nabiki noticed Genma didn't really look surprised. More annoyed than anything.
"When I was younger, and Genma was away training, I met someone completely unlike Genma," admitted Nodoka.
Nabiki glanced at Ranma and started cataloging differences in his physique as well. Mainly, he looked still like Ranma. Obviously took after his mother's side in those respects.
"How different?" asked Kasumi.
"Oh he was tall, and handsome, and virile," said Nodoka, a faint blush and gleam in her eyes indicating she well remembered this brief liason. "Manly too. So very very manly."
Nabiki glanced at Genma's expression. "Completely unlike Genma, eh?"
"I got that, thank you," said Genma.
"He was injured from an adventure, stumbled across my path, things happened," said Nodoka. "It was when this was first brought out that my husband came up with the training trip idea."
"Uh huh," asked Nabiki. "This guy have a name?"
Nodoka's eyes were bright at the memory. "Ah yes. His name was-"
