Magic tends to lead into strange ways once it mixes with Science, as once it gets too powerful either way, poor Artie Clarke gets ALL confused. *smirk*

So these possibilities are as likely as anything--and VERY divergent from normal ol' Ranma:

Ranma Richards, adopted after being found by the young scientist just before some maniac would have tossed him into a pit of starving Cats. He was raised well, albeit in odd scientific "army brat" style, until he talked his way aboard a certain spaceflight, along with the Storms and Mr. Grimm....
Ranma FellOutOfTheSkyAndMightHaveDiedButDidn'tSoHeToldUsHeWasNamedRanmaAnd--- **HH-HRM!!!**
Okay,Okay! Ranma was found at our Mountain so he helps us make things! "More Like it.. I need a trip to the Solamnic Knights again, these guys are killing me!"
Ranma was found, dying, protecting the equally wounded and dying kitten his son so loved, so as Kyuusaku saves Atsuko's mind into NK1124, Ranma, now himself and Neko both, is saved and placed as the mind and spirit of NK1125, the male model.
Ranma is found, just a young boy, and grievously wounded, in the middle of Nowhere by one Katsuhito Stingray. He ended up both adopting and using Boomer-derived tech in repairing and upgrading the young Ranma, just as he improved Sylia and Mackie..
Ranma Of Borg was a special project, a voice in the Commonality that was kept individual, as a potential Nexus/Ruler should the Borg Queen be successfully taken down fully. He was detached and rendered a Improved, but Individual human-type during the Borg/Federation conflicts, and now must find a place for himself in the Alpha Quadrant.
Something else, as scientific or not as seems right.
