Inhale... Exhale...
The trip was expected to last a while since their companions had informed them that the transport would need some time to get through security and get both him and Jean into position to blast off into space. They are to maintain communications silence until both he and Jean are safely in space and far away from ZAFT forces.
Inhale... Exhale...
So with nothing better to do, Barry decided to take the time to meditate and calm his nerves. He honestly thought that there was absolutely no way that this plan can be pulled off smoothly, regardless of what Herbert, Mars and Hilda said. When the facts present themselves, security would have to be composed of idiots who couldn't even notice that the mobile suits being transported are NOT typical ZAFT units.
Inhale... Exhale...
He had been concerned about how the trio would be able to escape in case security forces did find something fishy. Jean told him not to worry since they were quick thinkers and good on their feet. They had to be if they wanted to survive piloting mobile suits in a war zone.
Inhale... and choke as the radio came to life. "MOVE IT, BARRY!!!"
Had Barry Ho been less disciplined, he would have cursed at Jean. Instead, he powered up all of his Astray's systems while muttering under his breath "I told you so..."

"We will now begin conducting performance and combat testing of the ZGMF-X999A ZAKU Mass Production Trial Type. All systems are go so please proceed, Mr. Hieronymus." The evaluation team watched as the Phase Shift armour transformed the dull grey suit into a bright golden colour (save for the spiked shoulder pads).
The pilot inside the suit took a deep breath and looked at the stars ahead before announcing his departure. "Courtney Hieronymus! La-"
He was rudely interrupted when the left wall of the port was destroyed from an energy weapon discharge. At that point, two Astray mobile suits made their way through the wall and blasted off into space. The technical evaluation team was in chaos, just wondering what the hell happened and why security didn't get to this matter sooner. Normally, a disruption of this scale would cause all technical evaluations to be suspended until further notice but the guys at the Integrated Design Bureau wouldn't be too happy to hear that evaluations got pushed back.
Besides... this was a good chance to test what this new machine can do. This should prove to be interesting. "We're going to abort this test! Do you read me, Pilot Hieronymus?!"
A small smirk came to his face as his hands trembled with excitement for real combat. "Negative! Get your equipment to stand by and observe what this thing can do because I'm going after those two!"
"But Courtney... !"
The pink mono-eye of the mobile suit glowed as the suit powered up. "Courtney Hieronymus, ZAKU... launching!!"
