After the portal deposited her in the dungeon, Serenity hovered for a few moments to get her bearings. This one had that 'New Dungeon Smell' which spoke of a Keeper just starting out. Blood, grime and other less pleasant odors would come in due time, but for now there was only the comforting scent of freshly mined gravel and dirt. Light sources mounted at regular intervals along the walls provided subdued but sufficient illumination.
It spoke well of this Keeper's attentions to details. Serenity clicked in approval, she'd seen more then one former employer get tripped up when the chips were down by the little things they should have taken care of ahead of time.
A cautious exploration revealed a well organized structure, the Lairs and Hatcheries were set up so that even a moronic Orc could find a place to eat and sleep. A quick peek on the training room revealed an intimidating interior, it seemed that this Keeper expected their minions to really earn their pay in battle. There was no temple or casino yet, which was only to be expected for a beginner. They would come later, if this Keeper managed to stay alive and successful long enough.
Serenity quickly veered off once she noted the Dragon's presence. There was plenty of room to go around and only a complete idiot would try to contest a stronger monster's space when there was so much freely available.
At last the Firefly came to the central chambers, where the Keeper awaited her on his simple obsidian throne. The presence of the Reaper at his side was surprising but not truly alarming to Serenity. She'd heard about their legendary bloodthirstiness but was more then confident in her ability to stay out of his way. She was a Scout, not a Fighter after all.
"So, like what you see?"
The Keeper's voice was rather pleasant, for a Human. A male of not too many years, though admittedly her kind had some difficulty telling the biped genders apart since they didn't employ simple telltales like lights or recognizable chemical scents unless one counted that overpowering 'perfume' that some of them liked to immerse themselves in. And even that wasn't a way to be sure with some of the creepier ones.
"Y-E-S. A-R-E-Y-O-U-H-I-R-I-N-G," The Firefly clicked out.
The Keeper nodded his head.
"Yeah, find yourself someplace to bed down. There should be plenty of space."
"D-O-N-E."
"Oh, wait. Before you go, there is one thing."
"W-H-A-T-I-S-I-T?"
"What's your name?"
There was a pause. She was surprised that he would even ask. Most Keepers in her experience considered their minions as just faceless commodities. BUt this one, this one promised to be...interesting.
"S-E-R-E-N-I-T-Y."
