Great Will - Pantheon: Son Of Sif [Episode 184021]

It was something that might have been considered a fad. The beings known as gods had gone around taking a mortal lover for a mortal lifetime. Not just anyone would do, of course. They could be very picky about little details. They tended not to go for priests and devout worshippers for such relations, mainly because most of those doing so wanted to be able to interact with their lovers in ways that didn't have the mortal partner acquiescing to their every whim or groveling a lot. It made the relationship a little more 'fun' if they could have arguments and spats and the other trappings of a normal relationship. Allowing, of course, for the frailty of a mortal partner.

Sif was Thor's wife, but by mutual agreement they decided that they should do this, and settle a bet between them as to whose child would end up a greater hero.

In the 1970s, Sif ended up with a slightly pudgy martial artist, having drunk entirely too much Evergolden Ambrosia at a "mixer" party, and decided that he had potential. AFTER she'd chased him around the entire Kanto region with a sword, but that was entirely understandable under the circumstances wasn't it? If a Norse deity wanted to vent about something, she certainly had the right, didn't she?

The native Ranma was therefore the child of Genma Saotome and Sif. Sif being not only the wife of the Norse god of thunder, but being the goddess of "excellence in battle" herself and someone firmly on the list of "women who could kick serious bootie when motivated to do so."

Of course, this meant that Ullr was Ranma's half-brother and the other child of Sif not of Thor's parentage. Thrud and Modi were likewise half-siblings, and Magni was sort of related as he was the child of Thor and a giantess.

Native Ranma before the merger had several abilities related to his semi-divine parentage. He had the typical sort of strength, stamina, durability, and resistance to disease one might expect of the child of a wargod. Likewise, all the sorts of skills one might expect of an expert martial artist came easily to him - no doubt both parents having contributed to this.
