Okay, she wasn't good at the sneaking around thing. Not that good at it at least. It had taken her YEARS to get to the point where she didn't get detected and beaten on by the teacher. She managed to pass Basic Stealth 101.
She could make the basic four potions in her sleep. Knockout, Paralysis, Demon's Rictus, and Smoke Bomb. Unfortunately, from what she could tell - she had worked so hard at learning those and impressed them so much in her memory that whenever she tried to cook she made one of them instead.
She WAS good with throwing knives, throwing stars, using the ninjato and a few other weapons. She didn't do too well with Disguise & Distraction class, but then she wasn't the only one who basically seemed to manage cosplay while trying to imitate someone else. As had been pointed out, if nothing else the ability to change outfits in a split-second had uses in other classes.
This being the sort of world it was, there were demons and other ninja clan and all sorts of nasties out there. They had special and powerful techniques in order to perform their duties. Such techniques as the Kawamiri No Jutsu (body replacement technique) and Shadow Clone (Bunshin) techniques she could manage, though sometimes the effect was rather less than she intended. She was better with Earth-based jutsu like Iron Body.
Ranma had learned such techniques as Shunshin no Jutsu (Body Flicker) aka Shundo and a few more advanced techniques - but Akane thought she could learn those from her sensei-Master as well.
She had spent some time back in the village, and was more than willing to be back out in the world again at this point. While it had been nice to see some of her old friends, it was less nice in other respects. Old rivals, teachers who seemed to have it in for her, that pervert-girl, all fit comfortably into the folder marked 'Don't Need To See Again'.
There were serious opponents to measure herself against, and while she wasn't the most powerful of gennin, she knew her path. As the ninja-retainer of Ranma (though the al'Saotome in her name indicated she was on the family roster as slave, it was Ranma himself she was sworn to) she would learn everything of her family's school of martial arts as well as perfect her own nindo.
