Setsuna's Trekking: Bad Case Of Loving You.... [Episode 184306]

"Sir," said Sulu, knowing that the group was having trouble with their memories. "He's referring to Doctor McCoy."

"Of course," boomed K'ord. "My daughter always DID want to marry a doctor."

"Urk," said Doctor McCoy.

"Of course, I didn't understand why until she explained to me that she wanted to have someone who had a future and a brain. It took me a little time, but when I saw what sort of drunken louts some of those fools who call themselves 'warriors' had become, it made some sort of sense."

"And she picked me out of everyone in the galaxy...."

"Obviously. Not that I mind. You really do have a reputation for speaking your mind, and being forthright, son-in-law. I can respect that."

"Oh, well, I'm overwhelmed with joy at that prospect," the doctor muttered, obviously feeling opposite to what he said.

"See? You don't exactly shy away from a good verbal spar, my good man. Why, you could almost be Klingon in that regard, though...."

"You have to be a bit more physical too! Why, from what I... heard, my daughter does have to take the reins more than she'd like. It's one thing to join with a medical man to have a relationship that'd be serious and not just physical, but she's got to get her blood pumping too. You've been good for her there, but...."

"Hmmm.... Looks like you're a real ladies' man, Bones," Kirk drawled, pleased that at least the situation wasn't coming directly onto him.

McCoy gave his captain a flat glare. "Thanks for the support, Jim."

"Any time."

"Swell. And what about you, you pointy eared computer? Nothing from you?"

"I see no logical reason to belittle your current state of matrimony," Spock replied, his voice as even as ever.

"Oh. At least that's welcome...."

"If you say so. It is obvious though that you may wind up testing the old axiom, 'doctor, heal thyself', soon enough."

"I hope that you are not saying that my daughter can not control herself," K'ord growled, piercing the Vulcan with his gaze.

"Hardly. Vulcans do not have a need to denigrate others."

"That's good to hear. And it lets me continue with my sympathy for you, what there is of it."

"And why would I have gained that?"

"Simple. I've heard that a Romulan commander is out looking for you. Apparently, she's infatuated with your person, or something like that. Don't know the particulars, but then I don't particularly care."

"About Spock?" the captain asked, sounding mildly offended.

"About the Romulans. Beh. Backstabbers and manipulators. I can see why you'd want to keep your distance from one of 'them', Vulcan."

"Looks like someone's going to have his own hands full," McCoy commented, leaning in towards Spock.

Kirk sighed and leaned back in his chair. "It'll be a bit busy here for all of us."

"And it gets busier all the time."

"Lucky us," Ensign Hibiki muttered under his breath, while:
