One might have considered that odd, but in Tatewaki Kuno's case, it was perfectly understandable. As the young man spent a good amount of time living in his own fantasy world, it wasn't exactly like his consciousness was in the real world all that much. However, he wasn't exactly living in his daydreams at the moment.
That was due to the fact that he was currently laying with his arms and legs raised by supports, and most of his body covered in casts. With the dosage of medication that he was getting, he could only sleep and dream, which he wouldn't have minded doing. As it was, he was dreaming of his beloved Akane. She would be coming towards him with the grace of a dancer, so that they might share in their love. Her face would be a show of light and joy that only the pure of heart could have.
But then a shadow would shoot into her, and she go completely tense for a moment before she'd growl like a monster.
It wasn't clear if he'd even remember those sorts of dreams, but then he didn't have an opportunity to consider them. Just how he would interpret what had happened to him would have to wait until he was conscious. Such a situation would only be the case once the dosage on his medication was reduced to where he could function on his own. With what he was getting at that moment, he was basically forced to be in a coma.
The oddity of this was clear to an attractive young nurse, who he would have thought to be a proper attendant for such a noble scion. "Why do we give him so much, anyway? I mean, I know that it's not enough to harm him."
"Don't ask me," her supervisor told her with a shrug. "All I know is that everyone agrees that something about that boy makes simply simply want to keep him quiet and out of trouble."
"Ahhh...."
Getting lost was something that Ryoga did on a regular basis, as he had never had the best sense of direction. He'd learned to deal with it, if not enjoy what it gave to him. Being able to see much of the country didn't help when one was simply trying to go to school. That made for a real pain in the ass sometimes, and it was even getting worse lately. Why, in one day, he'd managed to visit Sapporo, Kyoto, and Osaka, all without taking any sort of transportation. Just how he could manage that, he didn't know, but he was aware of the fact that his inability to find directions was seeming to get worse. Simple runs towards a beach would have him going to someplace like Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore, and Schenectady.
He couldn't even pronounce the last one, never mind know where it was, or how he got there.
All in all, it was very frustrating, and he couldn't help but get rather annoyed by this latest turn of events.
Unfortunately, he didn't know that he even had a Rune, so he didn't know that he was doing exactly what was needed to activate its detrimental side.
Ukyo Kuonji wasn't exactly a cold or grouchy person. Instead, she was someone who tended towards a natural cheer, and constantly showed a desire to talk to others. It wasn't a bad thing, and she managed to get by well enough.
But for a girl who might have known a certain boy under different circumstances, her life had been:
