With the Wind Gate opened enough, he could go ridiculously fast. He did so, hoping to come up behind Sailor Pluto and lay the smackdown on her before she could teleport away.
Ranma was travelling roughly 120kph and still wildly accelerating as he flipped himself up onto the roof of the building and used a tailwind to direct him towards Pluto.
Everything was lined up perfectly, and Pluto was just now looking for where Ranma had vanished.
"SWEET-OH... SHIT!" said someone leaping up into the way and realizing that something was coming up.
Sailor Pluto managed to teleport a tenth-second before Happosai could have glomped her, and therefore missed seeing a short old pervert in a brown gi getting hit like a soccer ball going for a crosstown goal.
"BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" laughed Professor Soichiro Tomoe.
"Professor?" said one of the other Professors.
"Just indulging in some diabolic laughter," said Tomoe. "Once we've got this done, my theories will be proven, I'll be able to get budget DESPITE those bean-counters and shortsighted fools who have denied me my life's work!"
"Yeah, I understand that," said Professor Chen. "I even understand that you can then use the fame and power to get your little girl out of that AEGIS program. That isn't the problem."
"Oh?" Professor Tomoe studied the apparatus, looking for a flaw.
"Yes, it's much more satisfying to MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"Oh, I see," said Professor Tomoe. "Shall we?"
"MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" "MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"NOW!" said another Professor, deciding to get this over with so he could go back to NORMAL research with NORMAL (well relatively) colleagues.
