"Is there a problem?" asked Cologne.
"Are there more of them?" asked Ranma, trying to count.
"I'll have to get extra waitress outfits," said Cologne. "Do any of you have experience?"
"Wait a minute!" said Ranma, feeling someone hug him from behind. "I don't know what... Akane?!"
Still wearing a black leotard that clung like spandex (it was) to a figure that Ranma didn't remember Akane having (she hadn't) Akane just managed to look cute and absolutely not repentant (she wasn't).
Cologne sighed. "I won't know more until I've investigated further. Though I am very curious why they all have the number '5' on their outfits."
"Because we were in Warehouse 5," said one of Cologne's girls, being as helpful as possible.
"Hmmm, I have a feeling this will take awhile," said Cologne. "I'll meet with you tomorrow Ranma, and we'll see what we can find out."
"Yeah, yeah," said Ranma. "But what do I do with all these girls?"
"Whatever you want," suggested Akane.
"Eh?" asked Ranma.
"Of course, Master," said Akane. "Why, if you wanted Kasumi to cook for you, she'd be more than happy to do that."
"That I would," said Kasumi happily.
"Okayyyyyy," said Ranma, thinking this was very very strange.
"If you wanted Nabiki to manage your finances, she'd do that!" said Akane enthusiastically.
"My specialty," said Nabiki, "and my pleasure."
"Uh huh," said Ranma, adding a couple more 'very's to the 'strange.'
"If you wanted to spar with Makoto or Haruka, I'm sure they'd be more than happy," said Akane.
"We're ready whenever you are, Master," said a tall girl with a ponytail, her shorthaired blonde companion merely nodding.
"Uhm, what did you call me?" asked Ranma, catching it this time.
"They called you 'Master,'" pointed out Cologne. "It's going to be a late night. I think I can get some spare waitress uniforms. Those of you with me, come along now."
"B-b-but," stammered Ranma, being surrounded by girls who were giving him looks that reminded him of Shampoo being in THAT mood. Well, at least Kodachi was going off with Cologne.
"RANMA SAOTOME! FOUL SORCERER! PREPARE TO DIE!" came a familiar-sounding voice.
Ranma felt a momentary joy at Kuno's attack as it meant SOMETHING remaining sane and normal in his world. Then immediately caught himself and shaking his head at including 'Kuno' 'sane' and 'normal' all in the same sentence. Something definitely wrong with the world when that could happen.
There was a sudden scream of pain as samurai stoicism was exceeded by something happening behind a line of the girls.
"I... fight... ow," said Kuno amid crunching and shattering and electrical crackling sounds.
"Uhm, so..." said Ranma as attention was returned to him. "Dinner. Yes, dinner sounds good. Ought to get started on that right away, yessir!"
"He doesn't know anything," said Evangeline, flopping down into the chair.
"What? But he's definitely from another world," said Takemichi.
"Yeah, but he's relatively harmless, has a curse that turns him into a pig, and another curse that gets him lost all the time," said Evangeline. "Good healing rate though. I had to tear into him pretty badly till I was sure he was telling the truth."
"So we don't have any other leads?" asked the Headmaster.
"Didn't say that," said Evangeline. "As a matter of fact, Chachamaru's tracking systems allowed her to retrace his path. It'll take some infusion of magical power but we can open the door back up there. Then we backtrack his path. There might be clues in his world we can put together with clues from our own."
"So how do we tell which box contains my daughter?" asked Soun.
"It's just a matter of opening them up until we find the right one," said Genma. "There's another problem first."
"Right, we have to get out of this cage," said Soun, musing it over. "Reminds me of some of the training with the Master."
"Cage held by a chain over a vat of bubbling green goo?" asked Genma. "Come to think of it, it does seem familiar, doesn't it?"
