No one had ever said that Soun and Genma were not capable men. Rather, they just tended to be about as dense as the lead that some people were thinking filled their heads at times.
"Are you sure about this plan, Saotome?" Mister Tendo asked, frowning worriedly at his friend.
Genma didn't even alter his stride as he moved. "It's perfect, I tell you, old friend."
"But...."
"What?"
"It's supposed to be the little girl that I raised that is supposed to marry your son."
"Oh, I know that," the Saotome patriarch commented as he gave his training partner's concerns a dismissive wave. "Think of it this way. It'll still be your daughter who will be continuing our lines with my boy."
"She'll be a copy though...."
"So? If she listens to us, then that'll be perfect. All that we have to do is make as many copies as we can, probably hundreds, and at least one of them will see reason.
Drawing his brows together, Soun looked down as he spoke. "Couldn't we.... There are machines here that would help convince her to do what we need her to...."
"Well, sure, that would work, but we'd have to find your daughter first, and then we'd have to use the machines on her to get her acting properly. The equipment here's been set up to make more copies though, and this way, we can get things done faster."
"Well, I suppose that you're right...."
"Absolutely. How could anything go wrong?"
It was like living in a dream, as Akane couldn't find any sort of solidity to what she was feeling. Instead, she was bearing a sensation that was like floating on a cloud. To tell the truth, she could almost visualize herself sitting on some grassy hill, watching the wind made the blades do a 'wave' like the sea.
And that mere stirring of air seemed to carry her away to, but not in one piece. When it brushed over her, it seemed to take bits of her away to float off into the sky, like the seeds of a dandelion, or a cluster of butterflies. The sensation wasn't wholly bad, as it felt like all the pressures of reality were going away, but she had this nagging feeling that something was seriously wrong. As it was, she couldn't tell if she was the dreamer, or if she was the one being dreamed.
She did feel like pounding the fathers for some reason, and wondered if she should be worried about something.
Ranma was fairly certain that this should have been rather creepy, but given the fact that he still hadn't let what he was seeing sink in yet, he wasn't too sure that he believed it in the first place.
Perhaps it was the sudden change from the enclosed space of that base to the bright sunshine of the outdoors, but he was now getting a clearer view of what he'd gotten himself into. Not that Akane seemed to be all that put out over it, what with the eager way that she looked at him. Actually, it was kind of scary to think that she was standing there in an outfit that moulded to curves that were obviously not 'gorilla like', but the only thing that she did as he looked at her was give him one of her 'cute' smiles. That alone was cause for concern, and he wondered if this was one of those things that was going to have her ready to bash him when it wore off.
Of course, that was added to the fact that she was only one of a group of girls who seemed to be waiting for his next words, and that Cologne, of all people, had a set of females who were looking towards her with equal reverence.
Trying not to groan at the very likely possibility that this was going to blow up in his face, he realized that the girls were:
