There had been a fine spring day when she was at her job at the Hina Inn when suddenly she found herself being collected by men who had looked very businesslike. Their papers had indicated that the feud between her parents had escalated further and to cover lawyer fees, they had ended up selling their daughter.
For her future to go this poorly had been such a shock she'd been nearly catatonic through orientation and training, but apparently the people in the business routinely encountered such a reaction.
Still, Master turned out not to be nearly so bad as he could have been. She had finished up Junior High with a slave curricula, specializing in Domestic. She'd had to be left behind for exams and testing, but she was now licensed as a Domestic Specialist, Japanese Cooking, Level B.
There were contests she could now enter, where her share of the prize money could go for contract buyout and her eventual freedom. Things were definitely looking up from the previous bleakness.
Not that her Master was something to try and get away from. It was unusual for her to feel like his slave, more a favored little sister. His enthusiasm for her cooking talents was well known to her, as well as his protectiveness.
Cherished - that was more what she felt around him.
She hoped that he would arrive soon. She'd already made arrangements-
