Rankami was the deity of minor chaos that roamed the gates of world looking to make changes to different worlds just to see the effect that would occur when those changes were realized. Today it was looking at the branch of a time line of the world that held a boy name Naruto. Rankami thought to itself, ' In the canon time line, Naruto would survive the battle with his best friend, yet in this one he passes away causing the world to turn much darker before it is destroyed. Which makes it perfect for my own personal brand of mischief, so what little change should I make this time.'
'Perhaps a mentor for the young boy in his path to become a ninja, a very special mentor with enough power to make sure that Naruto can win against most of the troubles that he will have to face. Perhaps a certain deity that might be able to provide that aid.' Thought the chaos spirit as it went overboard once again. Rankami had made sure that it had gotten permission from those powerful spirits and deities of Naruto's world first before adding another deity's reach to that world.
Using a divine version of the telephone, it contacted the deity that it wanted to fill in for a parental figure for Naruto. The kami spoke, "Hello, this is Rankami of the Chaos. I am sending you the file of a young man that could use your help. He has to carry the burden of having a great evil seal in him and then facing the people harmed by that evil who seem him as the scapegoat for their anger and fears. He is destined to be a great hero, but in the time line that I am about to alter he has had his life cut short. I have the permission of the resident deities and spirits to have someone step in to raise him so that he can reach his fate.'
"Yes, you do have the right to recruit worshippers in that world as long as you obey the rules of that world which can be quite limited in some ways. But there is a way around this with the nature of the world which allows superhuman abilities using the energy known as chakra, which is common among the ninjas that the boy wishes to become. There is also the potential of being able to summon creature using contracts, usually of the same species like monkey, snake, slugs and toads. So you might be able to create such a contract with creatures of your own choosing." The mysterious being listened as a response was given to it from the deity of it's choosing. It took sometime for the other side to speak as the mythological fax machine sent over the files on the world and Naruto.
"So you are willing to lend your aid to young Naruto, but you don't have the resources at the moment to act directly. Well, I think that if you just adapt your powers to those native to that world and send a servant that can fill in for you in the day to day raising of the boy. I should be able to personally translate your power to that world with a little bit of my multiple skills. So would that be more helpful for you?" Rankami waited the answer of the divine figure.
"Alright then, I will sent you a minor plane shifting device to send your servant to the right time and place. Make sure that they met with the Hokage first, he's the leader of the ninja and village that Naruto lives at. You should use a minor sliver of your power to convince him of your intention. It should be a little hard as he cares for the boy even if he is not allowed to act to much in the boy's favour due to the village's natural hatred for the fox boy. I am also sending you a jutsu or special power that he has to learn called the shadow clone jutsu, it's sorta a trademark for him. I will remain in touch for anything that you might need in this mission." The kami smiled as it got an agreement from the deity.
"Thank you and good-bye." Said the deity as he moved to the papers that were floating everywhere in mid-air as if to mock gravity. Moving the time line back in time about twelve years to the point that baby Naruto had just been cursed with the sealed Kyuubi. Creating a crystal for a one-way trip to those trying times, Rankami also placed in that crystal the details that would be needed to convert magic abilities to chakra and allow contact with the deity it has chosen. Then it sent off the crystal to the deity that had been selected as the lord of the mentor.
"Good luck, little Naruto." Rankami said as it looked back into that world and focused on the baby. Then it continued, "I have made sure that you will have a better life than the one that you have without my aid, with a mentor that I am sure will grow to love you. A mentor that will help you realize your dream to become a Hokage. A mentor that has been given to by the deity..."
