As the Great Will left, time reset itself in accordance with the little contingency plan he'd put together.
Ranma whistled a happy tune. He'd gotten it right and here he was in his own past with the talents he'd need. Now he had the talents to be a MAGE. A spellCASTER as opposed to a spell VICTIM.
Nor was Magi incompatible with Martial Artist. One could be both. It required a lot of time and talent, but it could be done.
Now, in the retconned history, he'd gotten lost for almost two years from his father. Instead he'd found this crawlway underneath this library and this guy named Albireo. In return for stealing books and things from above, he'd gotten training. Of course, it was a crawlway and eventually he had outgrown being able to use it - but he'd had the basics down by then.
Now he had a few tricks up his sleeve, such as Sagitta Magica. Useful when you wanted to hit something at a distance. Everyone, well - almost everyone, had two elements that they were best at. Practicing Sagitta Magica revealed which elements you were best suited at and allowed the student-wizard to focus on these strengths.
