The journey towards the island chief's residence had been an interesting one. As Naruto followed both Suzu and Tonkatsu to wherever they were going, he was the recipient of many curious and intrigued looks from the island's many inhabitants (which were composed of nothing but females as far as he could see). Although he liked getting attention back at home, this type of attention made him feel a bit awkward.
It wasn't long until they reached their destination. Both Suzu and Naruto walked in and saw an old woman dressed in a green kimono calmly doing some calligraphy. "Obaba!!"
The older woman's brush jerked and she felt a little annoyed seeing her work go to waste. But her mood changed when she saw the blonde young man. "Oh my! This is the first time that a foreigner has come here..." She drifted off before exclaiming in a loud voice. "WHAT IS THERE TO SEE HERE?!?"
"Eeek!!" The multiple females that had gathered around the house to get a closer look at the mystery visitor fled immediately.
Obaba gave a sigh. "Well, it can't be helped. This is the first time they have seen a person like your friend there." She got up and walked towards the Shinobi. "You must be hungry. I'll have a meal prepared for you shortly."
"Thanks, baa-chan!! Do you have any ramen?" asked Naruto eagerly.
"It's something we don't eat often on this island but I think I have some left over in my pantry. It may take a while to cook though. Any particular flavours you would like?" asked the elder woman.
"I like all sorts of flavours! Beef, pork, vegetable, shrimp... when it comes to rame, I can eat a lot, you know!!"
"Well, just follow my two assistants and they'll be more than happy to help you." Just as she finished that statement, a sliding door opened to reveal two young ladies kneeling in attention.
"Obaba, why is this person different from all of us? There's just something that makes her..." Suzu paused to think of an appropriate word. "... different."
Naruto started to sweat. Were they able to sense the furball that's stuffed inside of him?
"You see, Suzu... this person...
The vessel's sweat glands were into overdrive and he started thinking of an emergency plan in case things go seriously hairy.
"... this person... is a guy!"
"A GUY?!?" Once again, multiple women came out of nowhere and crowded Naruto (who would have been able to easily escape but was too dumbfounded at how they are so fascinated at the simple fact that he is male) to get a closer look at him.
And once again, Obaba demonstrated her prowess with her loud angry tone. "GET BACK TO WORK!!!"
