Asuka looked at the shoreline of Japan. She wasn't too concerned about meeting the Third Child. Even she could understand that the sudden appearance of that girl and that insanely huge robot would have pushed him to be more competent. She noticed that Kaji was a bit disturbed about something he had received in a dispatch.
"Right. Okay. This mess is getting stranger," Kaji muttered.
"What's wrong?" Asuka asked.
"Nagisa Kara or I should say Nagisa Kano. This entire mess with Iczer Robo and Nagisa started in the nineteen-sixties. We are now trying to find out about a project that could be at least fifty years old and the main place, if not only place, to hunt for information about this unknown project were over currently: the original Tokyo," Kaji replied.
Asuka stared into the water and saw the sunken city and shook her head.
"Secrets hidden in Tokyo that we don't know about. What else is down there?" Asuka whispered to herself sadly.
"We don't know. We do know that something happened back then, but we are not sure what. Satellites were out of position and their internal clocks said that close to a week had passed. The only recording from that 'so-called' missing week was from an almost forgotten satellite and from what I've been told it was very disturbing and has been classified at the highest levels."
"What was on it?" Asuka asked.
Kaji grimaced. "I don't know. I do know one thing is the fact that we now have Nagisa who has been shown to be odd and her family's oddity dates back to that time. The United Nations is very concerned about Nagisa now."
"Concerned about her? Why?" Asuka asked.
"That is classified," Kaji replied and thought, 'I saw the tape and I still can't figure it out. It looked like Tokyo was vaporized by some golden light, all three Fuji craft were destroyed, and then time was rewound by some blue light. It made no sense. I'm supposed to find out what happened back then from Nagisa.'
Kaji thought for a moment and then shook his head. "Asuka? Don't try and compare yourself to Nagisa. Whatever was done to Nagisa Kano caused reincarnation. Apparently, Nagisa Kara has memories of her past three lives. You are dealing with a girl who is physically two years older, but is mentally closer to fifty years older than you."
"How do you know about that?" Asuka asked in confusion and worry.
"Normally, I'd say Nagisa was careless, but in this case she didn't care that she knew of her previous lives being known to others."
The ship pulled into dock and Eva Unit 02 was taken towards NERV headquarters. Kaji and Asuka saw they were being greeted by the other pilots. Asuka passed Rei off as of no real importance. Shinji was slightly interesting, but all of her attention was focused on the girl in the pink and yellow mini dress. Her very appearance made Asuka feel inadequate in looks.
'Mein gott! She is so 'perfect'. How can I compare to her?' Asuka thought.
Nagisa frowned and shook her head.
"Asuka? What happened to me was not really my fault. It was the fault of someone else."
Asuka's eyes snapped to Nagisa's
'That voice. That's the voice who warned me, but how did she get to Germany without anyone knowing? How did she talk without anyone else hearing her? Telepathy?' Asuka thought frantically.
Nagisa breathed a sigh of relief as she felt the depression, anger, and envy fade from Asuka for a time to be replaced by confusion. Nagisa looked out over the ocean and shook her head.
"Who gave you that robot anyways?" Asuka asked in a meek voice.
"At first I didn't know. Now I do. She looked like an elf with blonde hair that stood a bit taller than Major Katsuragi and was called Iczer-One. She was or is a biological android," Nagisa replied with a shrug. "Now as to who created her, you are not going to believe me if I told you. As to being this open about this stuff? I know I am being investigated and that sooner or later most of this stuff is going to come out anyway."
Kaji shifted uncomfortably at the mention of the yellow haired elf, but he quickly covered it up and noticed that Nagisa felt a bit more at ease when Asuka was confused.
'What is going on with her? Am I missing something?'
"I'll see you at the base tomorrow," Nagisa said and walked behind a building.
Asuka quickly followed her to get some more information and stopped in shock.
"How did she....?"
The others came up and looked where she was staring. They saw a dead end alley with no way out with brick walls on three sides and no windows.
'That's one way to lose her minders. How she did it, I have no idea,' Kaji thought to himself.
