"Five megatons?" asked Brock.
BLEEP!
"Twelve megatons?" asked Brock. "Is that a unit of weight?"
"LET ME OUT!" exclaimed the Professor, beating on the inner door.
BLEEP! burrrrrrrrrrr click!
"Uhm," said Brock. "Were the lights supposed to go out?"
"LET ME OUT!" repeated the Professor.
fzzt crackle "ROWRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"
"So what does 'megaton' indicate? He's able to change mass and weight?" asked Brock. "Then why is he glowing and why are those metal tentacles melting?"
"Megaton refers to a unit of energy," said the Professor, slumping against the door.
"Wouldn't 'joules' be better?" asked Brock.
"One megaton is..." the Professor took out his hand computer and punched in some numbers. "Four point one eight five times ten to the fifteenth power joules."
"So it's a lot?" guessed Brock. "Oh, why couldn't I have died in the arms of Miss Nanako?"
"RRRRRRRRRRrrr?"
"The lights just went out in the test chamber?" asked Brock, somewhere in the darkness.
"So, if Ash can manifest an energy output potential of twelve megatons," said the Professor, "that's bad."
"How bad?" asked Brock.
"Blowing up the continent, cracking the world in half, oh, I don't know - BAD," said the Professor, who had only a vague idea himself but was making a guess. He was lit from the screen of his hand computer, the only thing still providing any light in sight.
"Oh come on, this is ASH," said Brock, "and his spirit beast was a kitten."
Bleep! "Ah, here it is," said the Professor. "I found the entry of the spirit animal he formed with."
"Really? Under what? 'Harmless cats'?" asked Brock.
"Under the category of 'Armagedon Class'," said the Professor. "That was the Schroedinger Cat. The Beast Of Life & Death and the Uncertainties In Between. The entry indicates the author was hoping this was not a Legendary but actual mythic and therefore just a bad dream from a psychic-type."
"Dang it," said Nurse Nanako, also in the dark. "I can't get this working. I suppose I'll have to do this manually. Misty? Are you there? Misty?"
thump thump
"That sounded like the door to the room," said Nurse Nanako. "Maybe both doors. Okay, Misty, stop kidding around. Misty?"
