"Wha- " said both Misty, still speaking in perfect synch. "What are you gonna do with that?!"
Nurse Nanako didn't answer, instead hitting one of the four trigger-like buttons on the grip. Some blades folded in, others folded out, and a pair of scissors made snipping motions.
"Erk," said both Misty, beginning to eye exits with serious thoughts of fleeing.
"No," said Nurse Nanako, placing the device down with some apparent reluctance. "That'll never do. Maybe this."
At first Misty thought it was a microphone. Big ball head, almost tennis-ball sized. Thick rod with a large power cord attached that ran into some odd gadget.
VrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Misty's eyes crossed as she considered OTHER things the now-sinister device could be.
"WHERE THE HELL AM I NOW?!"
The echoes merely repeated the question, no answer apparently forthcoming, as the petite girl stood in the canyon. Her delicate little fists clenched, her perfect white teeth were gritted, and the little flower ornament in her hair quivered with the rage barely contained by the 4'11" figure.
That she looked almost exactly (excepting the fangs) like Shiiko Kotobuki was something else altogether.
"Meow!" declared Ash, eyes glowing as the 'cat' faded out.
"Oh my!" declared the Professor. "It seems he assimilated the spirit animal's personality as well as it's magic? How odd."
"Wow," said Brock. "First Misty turns into twins. Now Ash thinks he's a cat-whatever-that-was. This is... Professor? What's this blinking red light here?"
"Oh that's just the... oh dear. Haha. Well, there's nothing to worry about. The door is armored, the walls thick, and I still have the robot shock tentacles to use if things get bad."
"Hsssssssssssssssssss!" said Ash, somehow managing to get to all fours and arch his back. A faint catlike image appeared around him, including a bristling tail.
AROOOOOOOOOO AROOOOOOOO AROOOOOOOO dinga-dinga-dinga-dinga-dinga
"Uhm," said Brock. "Are all these screens supposed to be turning red and flashing the word 'Danger' like that?"
"WARNING WARNING!" said a small robot flailing its mechanical arms as it fled the scene.
"Are the robots SUPPOSED to be running into the next room and locking us in here?" asked Brock.
"Errr, I believe I may have set the 'self-preservation' program a little too high on that one," admitted the Professor. "It may just be a manifestation surge, a one-time only discharge of the cat spirit's element. If I could just get this door open, I'd check my instruments at the other side of the lab. C'mon, robots, let Daddy out."
Brock gulped a little bit and slowly looked out the thick glass window (as all the screens were now flashing warnings) to see what Ash was doing in the test chamber.
crack appeared in the two-inch thick reinforced glass window.
The Professor began frantically trying to open the door away from the test chamber.
