"Squee squee," added the mousegirl Boo, reminding Minsc that she had two filled pokeballs. She just hoped that Professor Oak remained busy with Ash and Akane.
"Okay, okay," said Minsc as Boo came back in, grabbed his hand, and led him off. "Boo wants to go somewhere?"
Ash began drifting a little mentally as the Professor's lecture droned on.
"-and she's got a collar on her as punishment and reminder to YOU. You'll have to give her a reprimand command like 'sit' or 'stay' or 'beg' or something, once it's been programmed in your voice - this will be HER punishment and a means of enforcing a control you are OBVIOUSLY lacking."
Inattention was occasionally corrected with a swat to his head. When the Professor was done, Ash found he was being told to leave the premises immediately and get to work.
So numb over it all was he, that it wasn't until he was outside the compound himself before he checked his roster.

Up ahead he saw Minsc and Boo standing in front of a pillar that marked the airlock linking the Professor's section to the main dome. Such locations were where various people would post fliers and notices, needing some job done or assistance in some task.
When he got there, he found
