Magitech: Mobile Company [Episode 190379]

by Kender

If there was anything that Kodachi really liked about her conversation with the boy, it was that he didn't seem to have any trouble with treating her as a person. That might not have seemed to be much, but for her, it was a big deal. Too many people tended to treat her as a rich girl first and foremost, which led to her being either seen as someone to be used, or as someone to be gawked at. Even if someone didn't know about her wealth, they tended to focus on something like her ability in athletics.

Of course, what also helped in that regard was that he wasn't acting as if she was just a piece of 'cheesecake'. Many boys tended to not look at 'her' when they were around her. Rather, they focused on parts of her, like the ones who'd think that they were not going to be noticed as they stared at her backside, or the guys who tended to look down at her chest when they were talking to her.

Here was a boy who seemed to be genuinely interested in her, and simply wanted nothing more than to share his experiences with her. It was actually quite enjoyable, and she liked the opportunity to know someone who was actually quite nice to be around. She could handle all the self righteous hypocrites, the gold diggers, and the perverts, but this was rather relaxing and comfortable.

Besides, it was nice to see his father seeming to be rather put out by the whole conversation. Rather, she simply let him ground his teeth, and not get his way, which seemed to be rather important to him.

At least, she did that until the moment when something caught her attention. "This does not bode well."

"What is it girl?" Genma asked, frowning as he saw that the brunette was apparently staring at the bus following them.

"I can sense something sinister about that bus."

"'Sinister'? What do you mean by that?"

"Nothing more than what I just said. It is a dark, dangerous, and not particularly 'nice' feeling."

"Which means...."

"We could be in for some trouble."

"Damn," the Saotome patriarch grunted as he looked out the window before turning to glare at his son. "And what about you?! Didn't I teach you to anticipate problems? What happened to your ability to notice these things?"

"Oh, them? I noticed them a while back," Ranma admitted, not seeming to be fazed by the stares of the other two.

"Then why not mention it?"

"Simple. They haven't been doin' anythin'. For all I knew, they could be simply passin' by, trackin' us, waitin' for a good time, or simply coming to attack us. Couldn't be sure, so...."

"Ah, yes. Right. Well...."

Kodachi rolled her eyes, and wondered about what would come next, while:
