Ayane's inner turmoil was not betrayed on her calm face. The pale kunoichi was not very happy with her current mission, but that did not mean that she was going to buck orders.
Not that the "powers that be" didn't include that caveat "if possible" - since at least a few had been uncertain that the Rei Ayanami-lookalike could manage to seduce a boy and bring him back to THEIR village.
If anything - it was the doubts that "the poison child" could perform this duty that got her own stubborn streak going. Kunoichi were SUPPOSED to be able to use feminine wiles in order to accomplish a mission, their teacher had informed them that was why the road of a female ninja was MORE difficult than that of the males.
Of course, some of the male ninja would point out that they were supposed to be able to seduce their way through a mission as well - it was just that it wasn't as likely to come up.
Pausing as some girl ran out of a house, being chased by a ninja-dog, Ayane spared only a moment for contemplation of the scene. Even then it was mainly at the admiration of the Doberman's ability to chase someone UP a wall. They somehow ninja-trained the guard dogs here apparently. Intriguing.
