Ranma and Ryoga both learned to shut up people pestering them for details, otherwise they were going to have to tell everyone the story every five minutes and deal with desktops covered in notes being thrown their way.
It wasn't until third period when the office discovered something fairly unusual going on.
"So you're one of Saotome-kun's shikigami?" asked the vice principal. He also doubled as a Shinto priest, particularly during festivals, so that was how he came to terms with the kitsune currently facing him.
"Whatever term you use is unimportant," said Sumire, almost cattily which was odd for a fox-morph. "We just will be outside the school grounds, and I wanted to do the right thing by letting the authorities know we were there and will be abiding by your laws as regard such things."
"I see, I see," said the vice principal. He looked over the list. He knew better than to completely trust a kitsune but allowed that they were also quite intelligent. It served this kitsune's interests to make sure they had permission to loiter just off the school grounds, and he thought he'd figured out the angle the kitsune was exploring here. By making their talents and owner known, they might be able to work their way to being included in school festivals and activities like the school trip. "This lists everyone?"
Sumire winced. "Well..."
"If you're going to submit it, make sure nobody is off the list," said the vice principal. Of course she was going to hold something back. She was a kitsune after all.
Sumire took the paper and pen, and added one more line. "That's all of us then."
"Why didn't you include her name to begin with?" asked the vice principal, wondering where he'd seen that name before.
"Oh, she's a typical Tomboy," said the vixxen. "Tries to imitate boys and fit in."
"Ukyo, eh?" said the vice principal. A thought made him glance up again. "She wouldn't happen to be trying to hide as a boy ON school grounds, would she?"
"Well..." hesitated Sumire. "I certainly wouldn't say THAT."
The vice principal nodded. Typical kitsune. Not that she could outsmart HIM. So one of the shikigami was hiding on school property to bodyguard this boy from the inevitable supernatural menaces. Hadn't that been on "Akumakun", or maybe "Gegege No Kitaro"?
