It had been several hours since she started trying, but Ranma just wouldn't calm down, no matter what Seras tried. He kept wanting to "twain some moah" and was keeping just out of reach. She could use her vampiric powers to quickly catch him, but she was afraid that she might go too fast or grab him too hard, and she did NOT want to have to explain any injury that Ranma might sustain, so she tried with only slightly faster-than-human speeds. And Ranma still managed to dodge and evade.
"Dis is good speed twainin!" he said, as he dodged her again.
Suddenly, Seras stopped. She had an idea. Curious as to why his nanny stopped chasing him, Ranma also stopped and cocked his head to the side. Then he felt Alucard come into the room. Not having anything silver to throw at him, Ranma instead jumped at his face as it came out of the wall. Suddenly, Seras was in the way and managed to catch him, even though he tried (almost successfully) to twist out of the way.
"Aww... nuts."
"Thank you Master."
"You're welcome, police girl."
THWACK! Ranma had managed to grab a book from a nearby shelf and hit Alucard's nose with it. Alucard simply chuckled as he disappeared back into the wall. Seras held him out at arm's length.
"Why do you keep hitting him?"
"Accuwassee twainin. And it's fun!"
"Now Ranma, it is time for you to calm down and go to bed."
"Okay. You won da spah."
"Do you mean 'spar'?"
"Yes." She gave the little boy a half-lidded stare.
"So if I beat you in a spar, you'll behave." The kid simply nodded and smirked.
She set him down in his crib (made with silver railings, of course). Ranma layed his head on his pillow and pulled his sheets over himself. Seras began to sing softly, to try and help him sleep.

Meanwhile, a number of German soldiers, some of them human and some of them special Freak vampires, made preparations to kill the heir to the Hellsing estate. All of them understood that this was a suicide mission, but they expected to be able to complete their mission objectives anyway.
At dusk, they attacked. The front gate was destroyed by a rocket, and another one was used to destroy the emergency helicopter. While running and gunning, they managed to make it into the foyer from the front entrance with only seven casualties (all of them human). From there, they split into two groups: twelve humans and four Freaks headed towards the west wing, towards the child, and fourteen Freaks (including the most powerful ones) and eight humans went to the east wing, towards the current head of the Hellsing family, as a way to distract Alucard and Walter and ensure the success of the mission. The second group fully intended to die, as they were the distraction.
The first group met with heavy resistance from the Wild Geese mercenaries, but they were able to press on, even though half their human teammates and one of their Freaks were killed. Finally, they made it to the nursery. Two of the humans turned around and returned fire on the Wild Geese, in order to provide cover for the rest.
One of the Freaks kicked the door in. As soon as he did so, something grabbed him by the neck.
:::
Seras was pissed. They just woke up little Ranma. They were all going to die! She attacked them with all the viciousness of an angry lioness protecting her cubs.
"HOW" CRUNCH "DARE" THWACK "YOU" SMASH "WAKE" SLICE! THUD "THE" CRACK "BABY!?" FWOOSH!
Seras had killed, in this order, a Freak, two humans, another Freak, another human, and just set another human on fire. Wait!? Set him on fire?
Apparently, Seras's new vampiric power (which she could feel had been forming over the past year since she drank that one terrorist's blood) had just awakened. She had been holding the hostile (yet very afraid) German with her left hand when it turned into a black fire, and set the man on fire with an extremely hot flame. His body was quickly reduced to ash. Her hand then returned to normal.
Now there was one Freak, and three humans left. With all the speed that her powers had given her, she quickly dispatched the humans, simply by touching them to light them. She was much faster than the one remaining Freak, who admittedly was the weakest (and newest) one who had attacked.
Drink him dry, suggested Alucard telepathically. You need to be more powerful in order to protect the shrimp.
Yes, Master. With pleasure.
Now, three and a half years ago, Seras would have been scared if she ever thought such thoughts, but since she now had someone to protect, someone whom she cared for other than her Master, she took glee in the prospect of drinking another vampire, even a Freak, dry.
The poor German didn't stand a chance.
:::
"HOW" CRUNCH! "DARE" THWACK! "YOU" SMASH! "WAKE" SLICE! THUD! "THE" CRACK! "BABY!?" FWOOSH!
The Wild Geese down the hallway took note of Seras's reaction to Ranma's bedtime being interrupted. They'd have to spread the word that waking him automatically meant that the vampiress would kill the offender(s).
:::
Ranma was suddenly alert, even though the sounds of gunfire and explosions had been going on for several minutes.
"Auntie Sewas? Someone's at the door!" He then looked to see that Seras had already moved his crib to an easily defendable corner of the room and was waiting against the wall, next to the door. Suddenly, the door was kicked down.
"HOW" CRUNCH "DARE" THWACK "YOU" SMASH "WAKE" SLICE! THUD "THE" CRACK "BABY!?" FWOOSH!
Ranma watched in morbid fascination as Seras quickly dispatched several of the enemies and exited into the hall.
He had sensed the flows her dark ki were moving in, and he took special note of how she set four of the enemy on fire. He then saw Seras grab the last one, whom he was sure was a vampire by his ki aura, but had something a little... off in his aura. She took him to a part of the hallway that Ranma couldn't see, and heard a sickening sound. Then he felt the enemy vampire's dark ki slowly disappear. Ranma assumed that Seras was drinking his blood.
A couple of the Wild Geese, ones who Ranma recognized as Stuart and Thomas from America, came inside the nursery to check on him. Seeing that he was okay, they stood at attention on either side of the door, trying their best to ignore the fact that Seras was drinking someone's blood.
:::
Several hours later, Ranma was still having trouble getting to sleep. Seras decided to take him in her arms and rock him back and forth in a rocking chair in a spare guestroom (and had also moved his crib into that room).
Ranma was a little embarrassed, and in fact, blushing because he was so close to Seras's assets. He was eventually able to go to sleep.
:::
Meanwhile, Integra, Walter, and Alucard discussed Seras's new ability.
"So she can turn parts of her body into a black flame?" asked the head of the Hellsing family.
"Yes," responded Alucard. "In all my years as a True No-Life King, I have never seen a vampire with this unique ability. I believe she can even transform her entire being into this dark fire."
"Why do you think that is?" Walter asked.
"There are so many variables when it comes to any vampire's abilities. It may have something to do with the fact that I'm the one who turned her. Perhaps her genetic heritage when she was a human influenced it. The fact that she starved herself for awhile and then only drank blood timidly until after Ranma was conceived could have affected it. Also, that terrorist she drank over a year ago as well as all the blood she's been drinking... the list goes on and on."
"Interesting," commented Integra.
"I do hope she practices her powers," remarked the butler.
"She will... and I do believe that this dark fire isn't the full extent of her powers."
"Do elaborate," said Walter.
"I can sense that there is more to her than just the ability to set things on fire. But she simply hasn't unlocked all of her hidden potential."
"We can speculate all we want," said the platinum-blonde woman. "Do you know how Ranma's doing?"
"The police girl is trying to get him back to sleep. It seems to be working."
"I hope he's not scarred for life," mused Integra.
"He's a Hellsing, Integra. Hellsings are tough. He should be fine."
"Anyway, Sir Integra?"
"Go ahead, Walter."
"Two of the humans survived the assault on the mansion. Some of the Wild Geese are putting them to the question. Perhaps we can find out useful information from them?"
"See to it personally, Walter."
"Yes, Sir Integra."
:::
One of the prisoners blurted out the word "Kriegsnacht", and MI-6 was contacted and asked to investigate.
