Not that her moron of a nephew was all that much of a catch in a lot of ways. The kid kept on getting himself into all sorts of situations that made her wonder if he was just a disaster waiting to happen sometimes. After all, he did tend to get into situations like when he'd been fixing the roof, hit his hand, fell off, and landed in the bath when Motoko was soaking. Only he could manage to have something like that happen, but no matter how perverted things got around him, he was at least a caring, eager boy who had a rather soft heart.
Of course, this disappearing act wasn't all that good of him, if it had been his idea in the first place.
The truth was that they had no idea as to where the idiot had gone. Instead, there had been yet another fight, this time the amount of work that Keitaro had been doing, and he had been yelled at for 'almost letting himself be a slave'. Then he disappeared a few days later, and things still hadn't quite settled.
But then, the residents hadn't exactly been helping out in that regard. Naru, who had done much of the lecturing, seemed to spend her time looking out windows... when she wasn't barking out responses to refute any feeling of worry that she might have had. As that tended to be accompanied by grumbles about all the sorts of trouble that he might have gotten into, not many people believed her. In fact, Kitsune had even teased her about that, saying that if he had been enslaved, then perhaps Naru should buy him herself, so as to have him available to 'relieve certain itches'. That hadn't exactly gone over well, and when she'd slyly added that it could be possible that Naru wanted to be a slave for Keitaro, so that she could be 'totally available' for him, there had been much yelling and screeching.
But then Mitsune herself had mentioned that she might just be willing to get him back herself. Hearing that had brought a troubled look to Naru's face, which might have been more noticeable... if Motoko hadn't loudly and intensely demeaned his character on one hand, and made it clear that he needed to be protected on the other. For her part, the sword user had been promoting a proactive solution... of some sort or another, but the girl herself hadn't exactly been clear on what she wanted to do.
As for Suu, it wasn't all that clear as to what she wanted to do, as she'd been rather caught up in the whole atmosphere of the declarations. Apparently, she was creating inventions to handle the situation, but what they did exactly wasn't clear. That might have been due to the fact that the other girls hadn't been all that keen on getting explanations, given how troubling they might have been.
As it was, Naru spent a lot of time acting agitated, Kitsune looked over forms, Motoko seemed to be readying herself for war, and Suu was building... 'something' that hadn't been shown to anyone as of yet.
Oh, and Mutsumi had shown up recently saying something about Keitaro, but no one had remembered to ask her just what that was when they had the chance.
Shaking her head, she walked away from the phone and recognized that this wasn't going to be quite the homecoming that Shinobu might have wanted. Instead, the guy that she'd looked up to had vanished, and her former housemates had gotten to be a bit... strange on the subject. As to just what that was going to mean for the slave, that wasn't clear, but what would be interesting to see would be the reactions that the girls would have to Shinobu's Master and his father. Slavery wasn't an unusual thing, as there had been plenty of resort workers owned by inn keepers and such, but this was going to be a boy bringing back a girl that they knew who was now his property.
She was pretty sure that it wasn't going to be all that quiet, she admitted to herself with a wry twist to her lips, while:
